Very Interesting Building

I know other diamond buildings - the prismatic ornaments of their facades - but this one is certainly one the most imposing and well preserved.

I suggest you to visit this exposition about the universe of one of the greatest writer of the Renaissance, Ludovico Ariosto (he wrote his poem, "Orlando furioso", in 1516 at the Este's court in Ferrara). This exposition is about what he was thinking trough his imagination: battles, tournaments, knights, medieval romances... Here you can find the masterpieces of the greatest... More

Temporary exhibition of the hero in Ariosto's monumental poem. The building also houses paintings of the Renaissance in Ferrara's rich history.

We visited the exhibition dedicated to Ariosto's "The frenzy of Orlando". Maybe the exhibition itinerary wasn't exactly scientific, but it was full of masterpieces and absolutely worth seeing! A lovely and extremely pleasant experience.

Even if you do not know the book well, the show is terrific! A very imaginative selection of objects related to the book, including paintings, tapestries, weapons, plus some beautiful manuscripts. Great audio guide comes with the ticket.

This is such a beautiful piece of architecture set in the heart of Ferrara. It is worth the visit, it has art exhibitions and many jewels that are worth discovering.

When we arrived at the main entrance we were completely confused between choosing the special exhibition ("Orlando Furioso") and the pinacotecca which we wanted to visit. So we paid €13 per person to find out that we are in the wrong exhibition (ground level) and had to re-enter and pay another (reasonable) €4 for visiting the pinacotecca (level1).

A wonderful exhibition here to mark the 500th anniversary of Ariosto's masterpiece for the Este court, 'Orlando Furioso". Packed with illuminated manuscripts, first editions, paintings by Titian, Giorgione, Pisanello and other Old Masters, the show recreates the world of the 16th century which inspired Lodovico Ariosto. It even includes a the magnificent carved ivory saddle of Duke Ercole d'esme. Unmissable

We can recommend this museum due to the very nice art work that they have on display. The museum is also centrally located and within walking distance of the castle and other attractions.

The exterior of this building was an architectural beauty. We attended to see a wonderful exhibit commemorating the 500th anniversary of the publication of Orlando Furioso by Ariosto. A real stunner for a book that is not well known outside of Italy, but is considered a classic of the period. Bravo!
