Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The so-called Tomb of Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 B.C. - 43 B.C), Formia, Lazio.
The monument is unsecured as a Tomb of Cicero, it is rather considered a monument to him. Open only first and third sunday in the month Form 10:30 to 13:00.

A stunning place to visit and an absolute must see. The ancient walls of the property are beautifully preserved, as is the roman bottom half of the tomb. Medieval watchtower also amazing.

The guide was lovely, full of information and spoke very good English.

Would definitely recommend seeing.

I have been to this site for music and film. Lovely site with the tomb at the center. No parking and is on a busy road and is only open on specific days - check with proloco internet site or at tourist office for details. For concerts, free buses are provided to the site from the port in Formia where there is adequate parking.

A very nice tower, however, it was closed when we visited and we could only view it from the road.

It is a long walk from town, down a very busy road with no sidewalks and small shoulders. Not worth the risk unless you have transportation.

It is indeed a bit of a walk outside of town (about 2.5 km from the center of town), and it is not often open (and doesn't really seem to have any regular hours), but it is certainly worth the walk if you have an interest in history or archaeology.

The folks at the archaeological museum are in charge of the openings, and talking to them (be aware the level of English understood might vary depending on who is there) will give you a better idea of the opening times, if any, for that day or the next. When I visited, they told me it would be open for a few hours in the late afternoon (a Saturday in July), but it was a day trip for me and I couldn't stay that late, so I didn't actually get to go in. I think a lot of it depends on the availability of staff and such, which is pretty common for towns of that size in Italy.

The tomb is very hard to get to - along a busy highway with no sidewalks and no parking. The grounds were locked up, and you could only peer through the fence. Not friendly to tourists.

We went to Formia to see the tomb and the cisternone romano, both closed. Very unfortunate as we lost the trip to Formia, we could've visited some other place instead.
