Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This walk is the essence of the resort with hotels and sidewalk or rather lakeside restaurants, it is nice near evening and the lake is just a few feet away from the walkway, and there are a lot of exotic trees and bushes in flower. It begins at the ferry stop where there is a tram that takes you up the hills to the old town for 2 euros.

On arrival in Gardone this train was about to pull out so we jumped on to get an overview of this little resort - the driver took advantage of this and overcharged us by 2 euros (its not the 2 euros that annoyed me but his deliberately doing so). Anyway, this train just goes up the hill (via the main road) to the upper part of the town which has 3 or 4 restaurant/bars and the Il Vittoriala museum (takes 5 minutes). We found out the next day there are steps up that lead to a pleasant pathway (albeit uphill) that only takes around 10 mins. A lovely walk - unless you have walking difficulties or its raining save your money

This promenade is the main centre of activity in Gardone Riviera, containing the lake ferry terminal (where we queued each morning to take ferries to other parts of the lake), a travel agency, a pharmacy and numerous bars, hotels, restaurants and gellateria. The most prominent hotels are The Grand, The Savoy Palace and the Hotel du Lac.
At night it becomes the place to be seen and to see. The restaurants spill out onto the walkway with diners enjoying some of the best dishes in Italy, and the views across the lake to Garda and Bardolino are magical. A not to be missed experience. )

Our last visit was six years ago and since then the promenade has been upgraded with new tiling and lighting but the flowers that adorned the lights have gone. Shame.
The other addition from our previous stay was the monthly weekend market which meant for 3 days we couldn’t see the lake from the promenade. Very great shame as the view is fantastic whilst sipping a drink.
The promenade still retains its charm and being a quiet resort is very relaxing to wander along during the day unlike Garda,Limone and Malcesine.

The promenade along Gardone Riviera is a magical place. During the day the blueness of the lake and in the evening the lights across the bay. It's a lovely promenade to have an early morning walk or an after dinner walk. During our stay there was a vintage market and the area was buzzing with people.

We walked this easy amble daily and every evening whilst staying in Gardone. Romantic at night and in the day - even in the rain. Especially dramatic when thunder and lightening provide a light and sound performance.
