Avoid in high summer as there is no shade, but otherwise well worth a visit. One of the many Etruscan sites that should be visited in the area.

Fancinating treasure! Etruscans constructions from 7BC, Roman city, stone wall, and great view to the Tuscany valley. Wow!

This is a fascinating archeological site covering roughly 100 acres inside an ancient stone wall built by the Etruscans over 2,000 years ago. Very close to the town of Grosseto. Admission was the best 4 euros I ever spent!

Stumbled across this location. Well worth a quick stop, it had amazing views and small snippets of history dotted around the site.

On a hill outside Grosseto is this Etruscan ruin overbuilt in many places by Roman baths, impluvium, theater and etc. The wall that surrounds part of the ruin is incredibly tall and contains huge stones. A great experience overlooking the olive trees and grape arbors...More
