Good lunch, perfect salad and service.. beach not so good
Aug 2021 • Couples
The beach and Lido are simple and based on our taste and habbits we prefer a different one. However, for lunch we went to Mister Baffo (the owner cannot change his face for the the rest of his life) and all had a mr baffo salad, accompanied by a nice white wine(ask for it).

This is one of the best Salads ever, salad, olives, capers(specialty of the area), onions, tuna, potatoes, melanzane sotto olio (use google for this one :-)) and a good quality virgin olive oil made up for our disappointment with regards to the beach. Ofcourse, being a real “Italolandese ” , we finished with a Malvasia…

In short… we had a really good lunch and strongly recommend to come here to have a nice lunch and swim.

Small beach
Jun 2021
We took the Beach Hopper boat service to this beach. We rented lounges and spent a few hours. No sand, just small rocks. There was a bar where we bought drinks and snacks.

Delightful.

We took the beach-boat taxi (€8 per person return). Pick up/ return from our hotel at our convenient time. We could chose whatever beach we wanted to go to but chose Mister Baffo Beach as it was sheltered, beautiful crystal clear water, relativey small with sunbeds (€7.50 p.p all day with beach umbrella) and excellent light meals, delicious sandwiches and drinks from the Mr Baffo family (grandmother, wife and daughter serving). You can order and be served on your sunbed. We preferred to walk 3 minutes behind the beach and sit comfortable at a table and watch the ‘Baffo’ family prepare our food. Baffo means moustache and indeed Mr Baffo had an impressive one to show off !

Good and fresh food

It was a pleasure to have lunch at Mr. Baffo. We had the best paninis in Lipari and the family who owns the little beach restaurant is lovely and hospitable. Good food for little prices.

Quiet beach where you can hire umbrellas
Aug 2015 • Solo
It is right next to the beautiful blue beaches, but quieter.. and I loved meeting Mr Baffo who has a bar next to the bus stop. he uses food from the garden and they make their own Marsala wine, a taste of which was on the house!

Great view
Jul 2015 • Couples
Great view but small beach. Clean water. THe view over the old pomice works is interesting from an industrial archeology point of view but remains intrusive.

nice beach until you realise all visitors for the past year are advised to toilet in the water!
Jul 2015 • Family
We have enjoyed the views, the warmth of the water, and the food in the nearby cafe (good fruit salad, slightly salty panini, a good choice of ice creams and cheap bottled water), however the surprise comes when you start asking for the direction to the nearest toilet... it does not exist and all tourists (50-100 per day) for the past year have been asked to 'do it' into the sea. with no rocks to or bushes to hide in, the water is the only option! local cafe has not had a working sewage since last year, so level of sanitation on the beach remains a mystery. will not visit again and would not recommend!

ah, and the paid-for jelly-free area of the bay is not really jelly-fish free, and the person on duty does not seem to care about it! you can get a net if you want to catch it by yourselves! It seems that there were more people getting bitten in that area than around it!
