While the staff were lovely on the boat, this trip was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. The conditions were very rough and yet we were given no warning. Many people were feeling sick when we arrived at Amalfi for free time. When we got to Positano the staff abruptly told us we couldn’t dock due to the conditions and instead we went straight back to the marina, spending a total of 4.5 hours on the boat, for only 2.5 hours of free time in Amalfi. To make it worse, so many people were unwell on the trip back and yet staff had to be asked to prioritise returning to land, as the driver of the boat spent time driving in literal circles (I’m not even making this up) to show us so called “sights” in the rocks.
When approached for a refund under THEIR policy, they ignored all emails.
This trip was absolute trash and you should book with another company.

Quiet location and sunbeds ranged from 7 to 4 Euro . At far end of Marina kayaks to hire as well.
Such a pleasant contrast to the busy tourist spotssuch as Pompeii, Herculaneum, Positano and Amalfi.
Wish we had discovered it sooner.

My family and I were staying at a miserable hotel on the top of the bank and we would walk down past the lemon and olive groves and grapevineyards to the beach and marina. Lovely walk up and down, not suitable for disabled take a taxi or go by car. We came accross a great little restaurant Angelo's. Warmly welcomed and quickly served cool drinks very reasonably priced. We highly recommend this venue, quaint and just opposite the sea only thirty metres infront. Great menu, we went twice, pizzas, seafood spaghetti were divine, delicious, fresh, colourful, healthy food. Salads delicious. See my seafood spaghetti yumscious! What was evident was that the restaurant us run by a family and just like my family warm and friendly. We very much enjoyed our meals and drinks. Beer came in frosted glasses my sons and hubby liked that especially because it was hot! Very refreshing. My son who is a top class waiter in this country gave Mrs Angelo a formed swan made with the napkins we were given in gratitude for the fabulous service. She blessed and thanked my son. She was overwhelmed. I was appreciated for that blessing. This is the nicest family I have had the pleasure of meeting in Italy. Please get yourselves down here for an evening or lunch, so very worthwhile. Beautiful food, very clean, lovely family, warm welcome, aa delight and a hidden gem. If I returned, I would be there everyday for my lunch. Food and drink is great, I cant rate this venue high enough, better than the food in our hotel by a long way! Bless this family, best regards always, for making a huge difference to our holiday. Please if you visit, tell them of my good review and mention the swan! :) Enjoy, because we certainly did, great place to eat and drink. Apparantly its only a few pounds for parking. Well worth it. Get yourselves there! I will put a few pics on.

Ok, so it may not be the easiest place to get to but it's certainly worth it!
Having booked an Airbnb apartment for a week in September, I looked at great depth into means of getting here and back.
From Napoli airport we avoided transport links to port for trains and ferries and aimed for the Curreri bus to Sorrento. For €10 each it's a bargain but be advised, firstly, book your tickets online in advance and secondly, get to the bus as early as possible before departure. I mean at least 20-30mins. The bus now leaves from the DEPARTURE door so ignore any signs for buses to Sorrento etc and don't do what we did and head for the bus stop there!
We had arrived in plenty of time but due to heading to the wrong stop, the bus was already full by the time we found it and it was standing room only all the way to Sorrento. If you're lucky someone gets off before Sorrento, if not, prepare for a hair raising trip!
We arrived in Sorrento and before we had a chance to look for a taxi, we were accosted by an old man with the most ancient taxi held together with duct tape!! He had our bags in the car before we could blink and proceeded to 'drive' us to Marina Della Lobra. If we didn't laugh...... he drove and chattered away in a mix of Italian/Neapolitan? He had a phone in one hand and steering wheel in the other and attempted to negotiate traffic and pedestrians. When not on the phone he was rummaging about in his sun visor for postcards to give us or business cards for his friend with a boat! Seriously never seen anything like it, there must have been 10 rolls of tape holding that car together! When we arrived at the marina, with much relief, we gave him the €35 he asked for and thanked him for getting us there in one piece and also for the sweets and postcards.
There are few buses which go to Marina Della Lobra direct but most go to Massa Lubrense and you walk downhill. Taxi may sound expensive but with luggage or if you have a timescale to stick to, i.e. A return trip to airport requiring onward travel, then I'd recommend taxi. Our return to Sorrento station cost €40 but was in comfort and safety ;)
As I've said there are about 5 buses which go uphill from the Marina to save you walking but otherwise you're on foot. There are several sets of steep steps which you can take to get you to the town of Massa Lubrense but if you don't fancy that challenge, then a more gentle walk up the road will take you around 30 minutes.
There are shops and cafes on the road up if you want to stop and a good variety of shops in town from independent grocers and bakers to a Spar. We shopped in both, but to be honest the small shops in Marina Della Lobra have a lot of the basics and it felt better to support local businesses.
There are restaurants and bars to eat at in the Marina, like Funiculi Funicula and Angelo's so you don't have to venture far to get good food with a variety of price ranges.
If it was up to me I would live down there for the week and never venture out, but when there are boat trips to Capri and Amalfi available on your doorstep it's very easy to have daytrips away. The cooperative for the Marina has an office above the Funiculi restaurant and you could also get tickets from Angelo's bar.
Overall loved the Marina Della Lobra and highly recommend it for a relaxing holiday!

we took an EAV bus to Massa Lubrense (runs form Sorrento) from our hotel which was nearby. We walked down the steep path and steps to Marina della Lobra. it is quite a steep walk down, and we passed olive trees with nets hanging under them, and lemon groves. I think it is possible to go here on at SITA bus.
Our first stop was Angelo's bar, we we had a cup of coffee, looking out over the marina. It is lovely. It is possible to take a boat trip from here, and fishing trips
However, we walked along the path alongside the sea. Here there are at least 3 'swimming pools'. Areas cordoned off by rocks with steps going down into the sea water. It is possible to hire deckchairs or sun loungers at at least one of the pools, where there is also a sun bathing area. i am a bit vague as to which one has these for hire, as I wasn't really taking much notice. Just enjoying the view over the sea, and wishing I had taken swimming things.
There are various bars and restaurants, and it is altogether a good place to visit. It is really peaceful, after the 'bustle' of Sorrento, and well worth a visit

We came across this place by accident and ended up spending the entire day here. There is a dive shop so we went for an afternoon dive, great restaurants and bella vista. LOVED IT HERE>

Just spent 10 days near this little marina. Came across this charming little restaurant. The food was excellent for the quality and price. Angelo himself was there, a very polite gent. His daughters were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Angelo even offered us a lift back to our villa the first time we went there. In fact we went back to Angelo's several times and enjoyed each visit. The restaurant even has a small supermarket owned by the same family so you don't have to go far for your supplies. Angelo's and his family made us feel like locals. Not to be missed

This is where my Grandparents came from in 1905 to go to New Zealand. It was just wonderful to be able to visit it. The locals sitting at the Marina spoke very good english and were very helpful to me. That place to me is my Turangawaiwai.

We walked here from our hotel just outside Massa Lubrense and then up into the hillside to other charming hamlets with amazing views. Our hotel also organised a boat trip to Capri from Marina della Lobra which was very good. Other boat trips can be taken from here.

We found Marina Della Lobra at the end of a walk from our hotel at Capo Sorrento via Massa Lubrense - Santa Maria - Annunziata on Easter Sunday morning and what a gem.
So good we visited the local bar and sat outside overlooking the small harbour eating a delicious salad prepared by the owners daughters.
I was asking some questions regarding the Lemon and Orange season as I was amazed by the quantity of both on the trees in March and was told their father Angelo would be better able to answer when he arrived later.
Sure enough Angelo did come along and what a genuinely charming man he turned out to be and the conversation was so good we stayed a little longer.
It's that kind of place.
We walked there and back up the hill to Massa Lubrense however you can drive down from Massa via a road opposite the Church (signposted)and you will find it a detour well worth taking.

is Marina Della Lobra suitable for young single people in their twenties? We are planning a trip with my parents at the end of July.We are three adult children in our twenties. We would like a base near the Amalfi coast and Sorrento that has a few bars and night life.
Thanl you,
Máire (Dublin)

I wouldn’t say so no. It’s quite quiet and quaint. Now we were travelling with children and so weren’t looking for nightlife so you might get a different response from another traveller. But in my own W experience I think you would find this area a little quiet for what you’re looking for.
