Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely gorges beach and good breakfast with some healthy options (fresh fruits, plain yogurt and granola, eggs, fresh orange juice, whole grain bread). These are only two things that we liked about the hotel.
Once you come they immediately make you feel uncomfortable by labeling you according to the room you stay. And they really make it very clear whether you are at the restaurant or reception or the beach. Do you want room service? No, not possible, you have to stay in a suite. You have to beg them about it. You want a table with a view at the restaurant? No, you have to stay in a suite, even if some tables are empty. And again ask - ask - ask for a table. You want to choose your sun bed? No, not possible, you sit at the last row, first row is empty for the whole day, but you cannot be there. And so on...
We were travelling with children, so I booked two triple rooms close to each other and later called the hotel to confirm it. However upon arrival we were given rooms on the different floors.
The rooms were very basic, lacking any character, the shower cabins just tiny. However rooms were well cleaned every day. We paid about 600 euro per night for two rooms. They definitely were not worth it. There is absolutely no sound insulation. You hear every single word from the neighbour rooms or outside or chatting cleaning ladies.
Restaurant on the beach has limited choices, so do not expect any rich sea food lunch as in other places in Puglia. Some of the staff on the beach is indifferent or even rude.
If you want to spend a day on the beach after your morning check out, be ready to pay 27 euro per umbrella (and no, you cannot choose it).
My recommendation is to avoid this hotel, stay somewhere else and hire a boat to visit the beach.

The orange blossom bay in Mattinata (a fantastic, beautiful place, with the famous stacks) can only be visited by those staying in the two hotels in the small bay. For the poor losers there is a 5 meter long strip for which you have to book one of the 20 daily places!! Daily reservation in person at the apt in the morning center! 20 seats?? And then after getting up early and getting excited to be among the lucky ones, you run to the nearby beach to enjoy half a day and also pay for parking?? But what has this area become? Skyrocketing prices (first courses from 15 euros), beaches accessible only for a fee.....it was a relaxing place because it was "simple", easily accessible, with fair prices. I liked the Gargano better when it was "raw"...but you can always change; Italy is great!

The bay, the beach, the landscape and the sea are WONDERFUL, it is worth visiting. But the hotel staff and the employees of the info point of the municipality of Mattinata are unpleasant, rude, disorganised. They wasted our time, petrol and money.
Arriving at the infopoint at 08:30, they had already almost finished all the passes for the bay, they only had three more (and they couldn't go beyond 2 because they went "TOO" over the limit). We take three anyway and go to park at NINOTTO, a grumpy man who takes €20 to park the car plus €10 to accompany those who don't have a pass on a route that is not easy to do on foot of about a kilometer and a half, to reach the bay without the passes. Neither the people at the hotel, nor the one at the info point, nor NINOTTO, had told us that those without a pass went out onto a beach 400 meters swimming distance from the beach where those with the pass arrived.
For the record, there weren't 20 people Max on the beach as the lady at the info point had said but there were at least 50

Too bad you can't give less. The bay is accessible only by tourists residing in the two resorts on the bay. For non-residents, only a strip of beach remained accessible but only with a ticket issued by the municipality. Obviously this is discovered once you arrive. Parking? Obviously for a fee, and not a modest one. On the other hand, from Mattinata to the bay of orange blossoms we did not find a single free car park on the sea (except for a few narrow spaces at the port, but there was the municipal lurking) but all of them paid, even those for access, moreover in such a way very difficult, with very few free beaches. Result? Puglia is splendid: never again on the Gargano.

We took advantage of the hotel service for those who do not stay there, at the price of 60 € per person, including parking, sun loungers, umbrella, kanoa use and two courses of your choice very good and abundant at the beach restaurant. The magnificent place, with a unique quiet and tranquility, very nice view of the bay from the terrace of the hotel. All very friendly staff, excellent beach service and restaurant. Would definitely stay again. For this experience, the uniqueness of the place and the service offered, the value for money is honest.

The bay is so beautiful (we could see it by sea doing the tour of the caves and the coast), but it has all been privatized (I attach a photo taken from the sea depicting the hotel elevator) can access the beach only hotel customers and 20 other "lucky ones" who queue in the morning in town to collect 20 day passes (I do not know if they are charged). At the end of the road leading to the bay there is a huge gate complete with guard and the games end there. Too bad! 😔

I had wanted to go to Zagare beach for a long time and the wait was rewarded with a very pleasant day. The choice fell on the north beach, reachable via a path of about 1 km to be done on foot. Park at Ninotto who will give you all the advice and accompany you to the entrance of the path. The beach is made of pebbles of different sizes, the water is very clear and clean with a view of the stacks. The scenery is postcard-like with the white cliff overlooking the beach. The beach is partly occupied by a hotel establishment and partly free, but still quiet. The shadow appears from 4pm... bring water and food.

Having stayed in Vieste, we decided to go about 30 km to visit the famous Baia delle Zagare. And nothing. I realized that Italy is over. Beach, property of the State, completely in the hands of the 2 resorts with rooms from 200 euros per night. But whatever, the alternative could have been to go to queue in front of the Municipality of Mattinata from 6:30 in the morning. At the end of it all.... with 25 euros I visited the bay with a beautiful boat trip.

Best known as Baia delle Zagare, the most iconic of the Gargano. In concession to a hotel structure. The municipality of Mattinata issues 20 free daily passes, to be collected in person on the morning of the visit at the Info Point of Mattinata, in Via delle Camelie (in high season the line is formed before 8, office opening time).
The bay is defaced by an elevator carved into the rock and even the supporting structure for the hotel helipad! As if that were not enough you can park only in the grounds of a certain Ninotto for the modest amount of 20 €! The figure includes access to a path that leads to a forbidden beach (Mr!) from which to swim to the bay of Zagare, circumventing the pass system. In short, perfect example of bad management of the territory. To be avoided.
