The city of Montelpulciano is a beauty to visit. It's also known for its wines. But visiting the temple di San Biagio was one of the highlights of this town for sure. It's large and looming, beautiful ancient architecture. Even though it's large, there is a spiritual peace when visiting the interior. Be sure to take time to walk all... More

We were going from town to town in Tuscany. Each town had a church. When we came to Multepulciano and saw this church, we had to tour it. An interesting feature is when you stand directly in the middle of the church and speak your voice travels all around the church. Another interesting fact is that the right belltower was... More

able to be seen from our accommodation and almost all vantage points on this side of Montepulciano the church dominates the side of the hill. Well maintained and in a great state of repair. This working church is fairly simple inside but memorable for its size

This was a great experience there was a wedding going on when we were there and it was beautiful to see a very old Duomo like this still in use everyday. The area and grounds are very nice.

So many wonderful little places to poke around. The grounds are fantastic, the church itself breathtaking.

We attended Sunday mass there. The tempio sits on beautiful grounds with a fantastic view of the Toscano hill side. The service was informal but quite lovely. The choir was made up of just a few plain clothes locals. We enjoyed walking the grounds after the mass. It is worth the trip to see San Biagio even if you don't... More

This beautiful 16th century church is just outside the Fortezza section of Montepulciano. You can walk from the old town or it's just a short drive away down a cypress-lined drive . The church itself is surrounded by lush green lawns. When we visited early one Saturday morning, the church doors were just being unlocked and we had the building... More

I love this church located at the base of Montepulciano. It is an austere building and is surrounded by lush green grass. The cypress lined road as you approach the church draws your eye towards this very attractive structure.

The walk to San Biagio from town is almost as beautiful as the sight itself. Well worth the trip - one of my favorite memories from Montepulciano.

A beautiful, majestic and awe inspiring church, recently restored. We have a view of it from our apartment balcony, and it continues to impress. The appraoch from the road is stunning, yet up close, despite its size, it is surprisingly inviting. Inside, impressive in it's dimesions, it's also intimiate. An enigma in many ways. It won't take long to visit,... More
