You can rent sleds at the entrance and then go to the top for 3km of sledding trail, a little dangerous but a lot of fun! We brought our 4 year old son with a helmet and he and husband went blazing down the mountain....More

Had an excellent round trip to the hiking area above the Val Gardena. Spent two hours hiking and looking at the wonderful vistas. Very efficient transportation.

We are definitely not hikers and it was not ski season but we took the funicolare for the views - and they were spectacular. We enjoyed the ride up. The restaurant was closed (shoulder season) so we just relaxed and took photos.

This is an activity that one shouldn't miss if you visit Val Gardena during winter.... There is a long walk carrying the sledge to the station if you opt to take the longer route. However it's still worth the effort.
