The Piazza della Repubblica is the heart of Orvieto and the site of its city hall, several small restaurants, and Sant'Andrea, a lovely church where Pope Innocent proclaimed the start of one of the Crusades.
Nothing really special about this piazza. And you will undoubtedly wander into it as you walk along the main street in Orvieto. The town hall faces it on one side and the church on another. A few cafes are there as well.
If you are walking around in Orvieto you will wander into the Piazza eventually. Surrounded by shops and restaurants it is pleasant enough and an enjoyable place to stop, take a break and watch the crowds. Nothing overly exciting here but worth a visit.
