Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beauty of the square is inspired by the beautiful Sant'Andrea church, with its curious Roman belltower with twelve sides. Piazza della Repubblica, was the site of the center of the Etruscan city and was the center of civic life. Also now the square is the heart of the city. Here are some beautiful palaces such as Palazzo Comunale and Palazzo Vescovile.

The Piazza della Repubblica is the heart of Orvieto and the site of its city hall, several small restaurants, and Sant'Andrea, a lovely church where Pope Innocent proclaimed the start of one of the Crusades.

As Orvieto is small, you will most likely visit this piazza. It has a lovely tower, lit in the evening and is one place to catch the bus.

If you are walking around in Orvieto you will wander into the Piazza eventually. Surrounded by shops and restaurants it is pleasant enough and an enjoyable place to stop, take a break and watch the crowds. Nothing overly exciting here but worth a visit.

A fine public square, surrounded by shops and eateries. The round tower is lit at night and is magic to look at. A farmer's market's stalls fill the tower side of the square many days. Always filled with locals and visitors. Watch out for motorbikes, scooters, and the occasional small public bus.

This piazza is in the center of beautiful Orvieto but doesn't hold a candle to the piazza of the Duomo at the other end of the city.

Piazza della Repubblica is a square where the city hall is located. The piazza played the role of the main city square until the time when the cathedral of Orvieto was built as the church of Saint Andrew stood here since the early middle ages replacing an Etruscan temple, and the first town hall was built here probably as early as the 12th century. Both edifices underwent extensive expansion projects with the town hall building taken the present shape by the end of the 16th century.
