An excellent day trip from Rome that takes about 1h15m each way. Trains run about every hour. About 23€ per person round trip. A few tips. In Rome, the ticket machines are geared to cash and debit cards, you have to change to credit choice...More

Our first adventure traveling Italy by train was made much nicer by the help we received at the Orvieto station. It was very small and easy to navigate. The station was clean and safe as well!

We got our tickets to go from Orvieto to Rome and waited for the train. Before going on the platform, we tried a couple of the ticket validators and they would not work. We figured if we explained it to the conductor, she would just...More

The staff at this station was nearly useless. The woman who sold us our tickets would not get off the phone to answer questions. She just took our money, printed the tickets and jabbed her thumb in the general direction of the track we needed...More

arrival in the beautiful city of Orvieto could not be worse: no investments for a million years so the station is filthy, stairs only, no elevator or escalator... great with luggage!!

At the train station I paid my .50 Euros to use the restroom which was a large capsule. It was very clean because as I left it was being sanitized and sprayed down. New experience!

What I did not like is the bathroom. Awful! Outside in an outhouse with a crate for a floor. Nothing I liked.
