Few kilometers from the city of Portoferraio is the Residence of Napoleon. Nice entrance and beautiful house with the view to the city and sea from the balcony. You walk through the rooms and get the insight of Napoleons life on Elba. Entrance 5€.

decorated with An impressive building coevred in large eagles and "N"'s, what an ego! Although not furnished with Napoleon's personal effects it does give an idea how he lived there. A nice way to pass an hour.

We had a guide with us from Tauck, who told us about the house and about Napoleon's "stay" here. If you go on your own, I don't think you will learn much. The house is surprisingly small and simple; painted with pastels and flowery patterns,...More

Historic home needs some cleaning up and some signage. It's a long walk from the car park to the house and a climb once u get there.

One would expect more. Hardly any background information about Napoleon on Elba. Rooms hardly with any furniture. When walking around, one cannot stop wondering " what am I suppose to see here". Don't do it with kids, they'll be bored in no time.
