A beautiful historic place.(twelfth century) Very understandable that this scenic village is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. We will sure go back for a longer stay because there are more villages and historic places to visit in this special part of Italy.

I was not expecting how beautiful and peaceful this place can be! Everything about it was breathtaking. We watched a local man pick capers from the plant and we also took a peaceful walk through the cemetery on the hill. It is a must see!!

Do not miss the medieval walled village with its narrow streets, the Saint Peter church on the cliffs and the view of the wild Palmaria island

I sailed to Capraia Island with sail square ; from La spezia we sailed to the island and stopped at calo moreti before disembarking ; on our way to the Cinque Terre, we saw Portovenere from the sea and it was incredibly beautiful !

Our trip to the Italian Riviera did not have this as a key spot to visit, but our ferry stopped here first on the way to Cinque Terre, and we were pleasantly surprised by this town, and would definitely return. Lovely views to the sea and the bay of poets - nice shopping and restaurants. Worth the visit.

I was blown away and very surprised how much we LOVED Porto Venere. It should be the 6th Cinque Terre bc it is that beautiful. It has everything the 5 Terre's have but it is much smaller which makes it easier to find what you need and to explore. You are on a peninsula that is surrounded by turquoise colored... More

this is by far the best place to stay in visiting Cinque Terre - lots of wonderful restaurants - great gelato - easy for an evening stroll. Take the ferry to the villages - far easier than heading to the train in La Speiza.
