To begin, our Honeymoon to Amalfi Coast (Pranaio) has been Over the Moon Outstanding. That was a constant wherever we went, until we wanted gelato. Bar Del Sole came highly recommended from our VRBO host, and so after a long hot morning we were looking for some refreshment. When we arrived there at 2:35pm they were closed, we saw the sign on the door that they would reopen at 3:00pm, so we were happy to wait understanding that it is not unusual for business to take a midday siesta. When 3:00 came the place did not open, all the while the owner was sitting in the shop knowing full well we were outside and when we looked inside he just very disrespectfully waved us away. But it doesn’t end there as we were going another gentleman walked up and the owner opened the door let him in and locked it behind him, then proceeded to serve him. When that was done he unlocked the door and let him out, When we politely asked him if he was going to remain open he, yelled at us and said he was going to remain closed and he kept pointing at a sign that said NOTHING stating that he was going to close. Long story short, I have been all over this world and that was the rudest experience with an establishment we have EVER encountered. It didn’t ruin our trip, but it did leave us with One Horrible experience in otherwise a totally awesome trip.

Awesome little cocktail bar, with some usual cocktails but delicious and amazing! We loved it here! Plenty of little snacks that they give you free too!
We loved the Lady Mary and Green Apple Martini! 🍹🍹 from memory they were 9€ each! Watched the sunset until it turned dark from this little spot!

Back to the place we love to drink in ,super friendly bar , spotlessly clean ,great beer selection with my favourite dupla malta grand reserve peroni . A great list of cocktails with my wife's favourite aparol spritz .the staff allways bring you snacks out with your drinks .all in all a great bar and will be back in two years 🍻👍

Praiano has all kinds of hidden gems however if you are craving gelato you will find a tasty selection there. My favorite is the mint chocolate chip ! Rare to find that flavor .Well priced for three good scopes 3 euro on a nice waffle cone. There is also a toilette along with a nice terrace to enjoy your gelato. Enjoy 🇮🇹

We came here on a lovely afternoon. We ordered two cocktails which weren’t just fairly priced but tasted fantastic. The staff are friendly and the place has a lovely atmosphere. We also got a salami toast which was good for two and ended the meal with a tiramasu gelato which was equally delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

I've stayed in Praiano four times in the past 15 years, one week each time. It is my favorite town on the coast. NOT touristy, much more laid back, less expensive, and more "natural" than Positano or Amalfi, which are still very easy to get to via a short bus ride.
Bar del Sole is a great place to relax, watch the sun set, admire the view, and just take in the local scene, including watching the interesting interaction between buses, cars, and scooters. Nice place to have a cold Peroni, gelato, or whatever floats your boat. GO!

This was handy as it is right in the middle of town, only a short walk from bus stops and our hotel. During the day it is pretty quiet, with cyclists and other tourists using it as an escape from the sun. It offers fantastic views of the church and out across the bay, as well as being a very hot sun trap if you opt for a table without a parasol! At night it comes alive and is very busy, mainly with the locals it seems, or maybe Italian tourists who wont pay the prices elsewhere. Overall the service is good. You can get the beer/drinks out of the fridge yourself and pay at the till, or wait for table service if you prefer. The prices here were the best we found anywhere along the Amalfi coast. If you can ignore being close to the road, and take in the view, it is great.

Staying at a villa in Praiano. Are there any local restaurants that provide transportation to/from? Not renting a car. Ideas in how best to commute please.

Hi you can get taxis from the Main Street in Praiano I recall to anywhere. Also there is a really good local bus service that goes from positano to Praiano all day and night and then a little bus that goes around Praiano. There is the Sita bus that goes from Capri all through to Praiano and Almalfi. The buses can be packed at high season but great cheap way of getting about.
