Typical of Franciscan sensibility, this place is rather austere in terms of decoration which might keep the tourist away, but the atmosphere of silence within is pristine and deep. We sat in silent meditation for about 20 minutes, deeply refreshed when we rose from our seats. So enter this sanctum when you are frazzled and fatigued and let your mind rest, wrapped in the shawl of Mother Silence.

there is also a museum next to the church, a courtyard with columns, a very peaceful, quiet place in the middle of the city. The church door was not open when we sit on the steps before the gate and leaned against the big beautiful gate. Suddenly we heard a key. I had just said to my husband, and suddenly the gate opened. We went into the church , we heard a lot of noise outside. Within five minutes there were many people in the church for a baptism . The people had already been 10 minutes right before they were allowed to sit and from what I could onderstand of it, this was just welcoming the baptized and the family, this took us a little too long so we went outside.

If you are following the story of the Merchant of Prato then enter this church to see his tomb, placed in the floor in this church.
