Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As it was a bigger place, is better preserved, includes also several mosaics and quute impressive remains of buildings, roads, cloakas, this is even more impressive than Tharros. They are comparable also regarding the istmus location. If you like archeology, a d use imagination to imagine historic life within these places, do not miss any of the two :)

Very friendly, knowledgeable and kind staff: we had an unforgettable tour in English by Andrea Lintas, very erudite, local guide - strongly recommended to truly understand the sight (even if you have read before).

If you have a chance, once you do the physical walk of the sight, also do thereafter the ‘virtual tour’ with the help of a VR headset. This is a three-dimensional reconstruction of how the town looked in the Phoenician, Roman (and current-areal photography) times based on the extensive reconstruction done by 4 Italian universities working on the sight (including recent discoveries of the plaster wall and ceiling decorations). It is the best ever use of modern technology we have seen by any archaeological site or museum. It was educational, visually impressive and, very importantly - working with no glitches. We were truly impressed and absolutely recommend it as a compliment to the physical walk - totally worth the money. Bravo to the Nora staff!

Nora is an important and extensive archaeological area. We went one day on our own and returned the next day, first to do a guided tour of the site with Andrea Lintas, an extremely passionate and knowledgeable guide who has worked at the park for many years. His tour was engaging and he patiently answered our many questions. We especially loved the mosaics and, of course, the historical perspective about the Phoenician and Roman periods. Then we donned VR goggles and got to see what researchers think the site and the buildings looked like in Roman times. It really brought the ruins to life. I would encourage tourists — especially my fellow American travelers — to take advantage of the innovative and meaningful work this park is doing to preserve history. It’s an amazing experience.

I was informed that a Nora visit had to be booked one day in advance. After my hotel tried to contact the site, they finally found a cultural site where I could pre purchase entrance, giving desired tour time and it stated that the ticket included a guided tour in 'your language of choice'. Hastening to arrive at the site in time (speed walking the last 3.5km as the shuttle does not have a visible timetable in Pula)), I arrived on time only to find that all previous information was completely wrong and No, I didn't have: to book 1 day in advance, a guided tour and obviously No it wasn't in my language of choice and No the time was strictly for statistical purposes! The Italian guide (Andreas?) agreed with me completely as did the employees but the place was under new management and it was all a mess? So I did the tour in Italian: very interesting, excellent guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share his knowledge.

What a great archeological site. There was so much more than expected; the ruins are impressive and I loved the numerous mosaics. Beautiful location but quite isolated with the only food option being a very limited snack bar.

I visited the site with a group of friends. It was extremely hot so we felt like on a frying pan. The English-speaking guide was really good and knew a lot of facts. The ruins themselves were not that impressive. I liked the mosaics.

It was a pleasant drive past salt lagoon nature reserves with flamingos and then past miles of beaches. We parked in the beach car park and walked along the beach towards the ruins, the water was almost tempting it was so amazingly blue. We sat and had a magnum and a coffee in the little cafe by the ticket office and just enjoyed the 29 degrees of sunshine.

The site at Nora was actually a bit of a let down. It was large but a lot of the information boards were missing so you could have been touring a building site. Some mosaics were on display but others were blocked off, as was the amphitheatre. The city thrived for a thousand years before eventually being abandoned due to persistent raids by north African slavers. We did see a huge grasshopper though, probably 10-12cm long and so many seagulls using the site.

This ancient site contains a really great collection of ancient buildings, including mosaic floors, a very well preserved theatre and pottery. I loved the sight of the sea reclaiming parts of the town. It certainly would have been quite a view in their prime. As an added bonus there were nesting seagulls around - a little bit of diving but some cute feathery chicks were around. The signs were a bit lacking so a little googling or imagination may be advised.

You can visit the site on your own but the (multilingual) audioguide, which is available in an app, is mainly identical to the text printed on the signs along the visit route. You can also read the texts in the app. It is not very useful, as the position and orientation of the original buildings are difficult to identify among the ruins. It is not nearly detailed enough and doesn’t provide much context. A visit with a competent guide seems to be the only interesting option in this place.
