About
Built in 1888 as one of the first mountain huts in Val Gardena. It's located on the sunny side in the middle of the Nature Park Puez-Odle with a stunning view on the Sassolungo and on the Odle mountains. Perfect starting point for different walkings and hikings. The kitchen offers fresh local dishes and there is the chance to sleep in rooms or dormitories. Open in summer from 1st June until mid of October.

I have been there few times just for quick stop along the way, but i want to contribute with a positive review because they deserve it. they not only served me a coffee with kindness but reliable when asked for infos about the trails, and when asked for water for my dog immediately gave me, truly genuine and good staff.

Great view
Oct 2019
A good place to make a stop and have a cold beer. You don‘t come here for special good food. It‘s ok but you get spoiled with good food in South Tirol. I had mixed sauteed mushrooms. They were slimy overcocked and tastless. Some garlic and herbes would have done wunder. The tuna sallad was boring uninspired. The service is nice and super fast (everything is already prepared and cocking for hours)

Wonderful Stop on a Day of Hiking
Sep 2019
The best part of hiking in the Dolomites (well, after the spectacular views) is the network of rifugios. Every mile or two along the trail you come upon a place like this where you can get an excellent meal or even spend the night. It was very relaxing to sit out on the terrace, gaze across at the Sassolongo, and sip a tall, cold, radler (beer with lemon--perfect on a warm, sunny day)! Typical tyrolean food was also very good--but the setting was the star!

Great late lunch
Sep 2019
My husband and I had a late lunch here after hiking Seceda before we took Col Raiser down to St Cristina. Refugio Firenze was a most welcome respite to us. We both had the eggs and speck on roasted potatoes which were delicious. Hiking companions had kaisersharren. We had never heard of it before...but it looked delicious and they said it was. Service was good and we really enjoyed our late lunch here.

Average: ok just for a quick drink

We had our lunch here but we weren’t too impressed with the food. I guess it’s better to stop here just for a drink instead of a meal. Polite and quick service

Took a very nice lunch here
Jul 2019
Visited for lunch before descending on foot to Selva & Plan after exploring the paths and the wonderful views after ascending on the Col Raiser lift. My wife had a ham sandwich while I had Penne Cacciatore, speck peas & mushrooms with penne pasta which was very nice washed down with a skiwasser. The hut was very busy but we were served fairly quickly which was impressive.

We enjoyed eggs sunny side up and roasted potatoes... Which were actually perfectly salted (low). The view of several peaks is amazing!

Good lunch
Sep 2018 • Friends
We had a lunch after descend from Sas Rigais. The meals were good, we have been very happy for Augustiner beer. The strange thing was that restaurant closes at 15:00 although there are people sitting and some others coming. We were happy that we came before 15:00 otherwise would be hungry.

Perfect spot to stay for extended hiking.
Jun 2018 • Couples
This hut is ideally situated if you want to spend a few days hiking in the area or if you want to get up early for some sunrise photography. We spent 2 nights here and on one of the mornings we got up early to hike to Seceda for sunrise. It took us about 1 hour to get there at brisk pace, but it was so worth it. We spent the rest of our time exploring the trails around the area and had an amazing time.

The food here was good. I wouldn't call it gourmet, but it was more than satisfying at the end of a long day. Breakfast was standard fare and totally sufficient.

The rooms were nicer than expected and very clean. The shower was cheap (2 euro) and didn't run on tokens, so you got as much time as you needed (within reason of course).
