My 2 friends and I were really excited to see Stromboli at night! We had a wonderful view of the volcano from our hilltop resort. The trip only ran twice per week. We tried to go on Monday, but it was cancelled due to rough seas. So, we signed up for Thursday. Again, we were warned of rough seas and large swells, but we went at our own risk. Let me be the 1st to warn you, if you are prone to sea sickness, listen to the warnings. Either take precaution or don't go. Half of the people inside got sick. It was a real roller coaster. However, if you can sit upstairs or find the adventure in it, you'll be fine. We had a few hours on the island of Stromboli, where we had a nice lunch. On the return, we were supposed to go to the other side of the island to see the active volcano. The captain made the call to go back early, due to the rough seas. We had to respect that decision. So, no magma or fire wall sightings, but the crew made up for it!! They entertained us with karaoke and dancing. The seas calmed down on the return & everyone had a great time. We would like to personally thank the guys who went out of their way to make sure we had so much fun. A special shout out to Sergio and Michele- we will never forget you!!! Thanks so much!!
