Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pier gave us a fascinating and very informative tour of his Olive groves farmed by his family for generations . His passion for the organic production of olive oil brings you to a much higher level of appreciation for the commitment and dedication involved in producing a high quality organic EVOO. We then returned to his home ( and his lovely Mama!) and tasting room for a generous homemade plateful of local antipasti and bruschetta bursting with local flavors . Tour and tasting takes a good 2 hours at least but worth every minute - highly recommend .

This is definitely NOT your typical tour....it far exceeded our expectations as it was led by a brilliantly talented young man, Pierluigi. He is the third generation olive grower on the family farm, and is without a doubt the most passionate caretaker we've ever met. He provided us with an enthusiastic and clear narrative in the field regarding the organic nurturing required to tend to 2000 trees, some of which exceed 500 years old, and continue to yield amazing fruit. Following the field trip, we were treated to the most amazing cheese and prosciutto platter prepared by his mom, and a brief tour of the stainless steel vats and bottling area. He personally filled, capped, and labeled the bottle we purchased while we watched. We could not have been more pleased with the session, and hope that anyone reading this will make the time to support this fine entrepreneur.

We were interested in learning about olive oil production so our family of four (with two adult children) reserved this tour. We were hesitant at first because of the price, but we were very pleased with the result. Pierluigi answered our many questions, showed us the grove, explained the pruning of olive trees, how you can tell their age, and how the oil is made. In fact, I could’ve stayed longer asking even more, it was very interesting. Then, his mother served us a huge plate each of cheeses and veggies since we’re vegetarian and we got to taste different olive oils. We bought a bottle to take with us too. Highly recommended.

I will never forget lifting the lid of a 1,000 litre stainless steel barrel of freshly harvested olive oil and the spicy fruity aroma. Pierluigi is fluent in English and German, and passionate about his 3rd generation family owned olive grove. We strolled through trees hundreds of years old learning about the ancient ways of cultivation and why they are still used today, then sat down to sample local produce drizzled with his magic green gold oil. Olio Biscotti was the highlight of our visit to Vieste and shouldn’t be missed. Pier Luigi was very quick to reply to our enquires and most accommodating

We saw this pop up in TripAdvisor as we were staying almost next door. After messaging about a visit the guy whose family owns the business came to meet us. We had a tour of the olive grove (a short drive in his car) and then back to see the production area and sample the oil with bread and wine. The oil itself is delicious and we bought a couple of bottles but there was no hard sell at all. You can also but his mum's home made jam!! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Our family of 6 spent a very engaging few hours in "Olio Biscotti". Pierluigi, the owner of this organic olive farm has introduced us into secrets of planting, tree care, harvest and oil production. His explanations were clear, and we all enjoyed them a lot. We first went into the fields and took a stroll through the olive tree grove. We were quite surprised to find out that some of the trees were over 1000 years old! Pierluigi then took us back to his house, where we had a tasting of excellent local products - cheese, sausages, his olives, oil, and local wine. We left with a good stash of local products that we are taking back home. Highly recommended!

What a fun and educational experience we had with Pier! He took his time and thoroughly explained the entire lifecycle of his trade, from how he cares for the trees and soil to harvesting the olives to get his tasty organic olive oil. It clearly showed that it's not just his job, but also his passion. We concluded our day with an amazing spread, prepared by his mother. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon drinking, learning and feasting with a passionate, enthusiastic and friendly host!

Wow... Amazing tour with Pier. I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin so I was curious on the process of growing an olive grove. Pier explained from the soil all the way to harvest and beyond. He will go as in depth as you want and it was super informative. It actually ended up being a great late afternoon evening out with a fabulous sample of local foods to eat at the end which ended up being a meal. HIGHLY recommend Pier on this tour.

I took this tour with my friends yesterday. We had a really great time and learnt so much about the olive trees- this made us appreciate the organic olive oil even more.
Pierre is a real passionate and a great spacialist- his knowledge about the entire process and industry is amazing. He answered all of our questions and was so friendly and hospitable. At the end of the trip and delicious dinner he invited us to taste his homemade limoncello. Because it got dark when we finished and we were on foot he suggested to give us a lift to our Aibnb.
We will definitely remember this evening as one of the best from our Apulia trip.
Thank you Pierre!
