A valuable experience

Viterbo Underground was an amazing experience. It still gives me the chills. Learning about the Knights Templar and the Medieval and Etruscan periods with an amazing guide who is also an archaeologist,Tatiana, made all the difference!! Highly recommended!

Don't bother

We were given an iPad to listen to information. There were 9 listening points each lasted between 1 minute and 1 min 30 secs. There is about 150 meters of tunnel. The tour, if you can call it that, lasted 15 minutes.

3000 years of Viterbo
We got there at 6PM, we visited the caves and enjoyed the food and wine tasting included in the 4€ ticket.
The owner was supposed to close at 8PM but she stayed there with us till 9PM answering our questions and telling us stories about the city.
Perfect experience!

Short experience in the place I went, but otherwise pretty cool! Learning a bit of the history of the the area that can't be seen by just looking around was a great experience.

There are two tour of the underground, the first it's about 20 minutes and the second 1 h. Both very intersting, excellent guides. I advise to visit the place. It was a very good experience!

a short trip
Nov 2017 • Couples
The tour lasts about 1 hour, no more. You should choose the guide that can explain the history of these tunnels under Viterbo. It's interesting to know about what happened there. I suggest this tour to discover another part of Viterbo, after the Terme, of course!!

Quick Fun
Oct 2017 • Family
The whole thing took about 45 minutes. We had a little audio player to tell us what was presented at different stations. The underground tunnel is very short, but the quick and comprehensive description about Saint Rose was great. The WWII use of the tunnels was interesting as well. The price is too high, it should be 2 or 3 euros per person

Brief underground tour...
Nov 2017 • Couples
The tour itself is quite short because they still don't have much in terms of these underground places (worth visiting in 2018, when they gain more underground "cantine" from the residents) but it was still very interesting to hear the background of this city and these underground spaces. The guide was friendly and informative and after the tour you get the chance to taste several local products (liquor & jams/spreads).
The price of the ticket is cheap, so it's worth the visit!

Worth a visit to learn about the city and its life from early days up to World War II: But as undergrounds go, no very special.
