We stayed at a local hotel and we were looking for names of our family tree. The Museum is well off the beaten track and a great place to look at after having a good walk around and researching the graveyards in the local church.

If you like local history this place is worth a visit. Its very informative about the local area and Fenland life over the years. Quite small but packed with interest. Lots of old photographs too.
The gentleman who was curating on our visit was very friendly and informative too.
Pay a visit if you have a spare hour.
Ps parking in The car parks in town is Free!

Took my grandchildren for this event . We arrived and went on a Roman trail . Each child had a sheet filled with different Roman figures and our aim was to spot The matching figures scattered around the museum great fun some were easy and some were tough. Each child got a little prize for completing the challenge. My grandson also got the opportunity to dress up as a Roman gladiator and with a sword in hand he went to defeat Boudicca ( a model in the exhibit) . He took this responsibility very seriously and had to have his actions curbed before she lost her head!!!

Popped in today for the new Anglo Saxon exhibition, well attended, short interesting opening presentations, some interesting items on show.
Worth the journey and time taken to attend.
Some effort and time by the museum staff had gone into assembling the exhibits and it showed. (Tick. Well done.)
Nice to see young school children involved in activities with the museum too.
Will return in the future to go around the whole place more thoroughly/leisurely again, having previously viewed the place a few years ago as part of a school reunion day.

I have not visited the museum only used them into research on various garages which existed in the mid 20C. I found the staff extremely helpful, emailing me lots of data and photographs.

Well organised establishment and the volunteers who run this Museum are to be congratulated on the high standards they have achieved. A recent display of artifacts and documents for the Town VC Hero George Clare VC was very well presented and the community appreciated the effort put in by Ian Mason and his co-staff
