About
Mount Ephraim Gardens is a family owned estate set in ten acres of stunning Edwardian terraced gardens against a backdrop of the beautiful Kent countryside. Explore the gardens, relax in the Tea Room or stay in the Manor House. Highlights are the elaborate and unusual topiary, Millennium Rose Garden and a traditional herbaceous border. The gardens also feature a Japanese rock garden, water garden and lake, arboretum and a spectacular grass maze with a small play area - an ideal spot for picnic. No visit is complete without lunch or tea in the West Wing Tea Room. With five B&B Guest Rooms, each individually decorated and with incredible views over the estate, ensuite bathroom, flatscreen TVs and tea and coffee making facilities, it's the perfect country retreat. Wake up in the Manor House, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and have the gardens to yourself before visitors arrive from 11am. Mount Ephraim is also available for weddings, corporate events, filming and photo sessions.

Some Lovely Autumn Colours
Oct 2020
We were unfortunate when we visited this garden in that the weather was awful and gardens never look their best at the end of October in the pouring rain. However there were some lovely areas and some beautiful colours on the trees so we did enjoy our visit.

Sorry to hear you visited on a bad day. We don't usually open in October but stayed open for one extra month because of the pandemic and to allow people the opportunity for a day out in a covid secure environment. We hope you'll come back again in the spring/summer!

Relaxing Gardens with Lots to see
Feb 2020
We enjoyed a weekend (pre Covid) at this resort and walked the gardens several times. Lots to see and some unusual plants. There was a Birds of Prey presentation during our stay that was great. Highly recommended for a peaceful couple of hours.

Worth a Visit
Oct 2020
We were at Mount Ephraim for a wild bird experience so after this we decided to look more around the beautiful gardens and house . We had a quick drink and snack in the cafe in the main house then spent 3 hours looking around the grounds ,gardens and house . You would not know this was here unless you visited .

Waste of money, more like parkland than gardens
Aug 2020
Very very disappointing. Ok if you want somewhere for the kids to run around but not much of a garden to see. There is a pleasant walk around a lake and a few roses that are past their best and that is it. I have got more flowers in my garden than this place. Perhaps we chose the wrong time of year to visit.

We're very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your recent visit to Mount Ephraim. As with many gardens at this time of year there isn't much in bloom at the moment, but perhaps you missed the grass maze as this has lots of colour at this time of year. The best times to come for flowers are Spring when you'll get plenty of daffodils, camellias, magnolias and rhododendruns, May for lots of colour and flowers in bloom throughout the garden and in particular in the rock garden and mixed border, June for our roses, and then our maze blooms in late summer. Perhaps you'll come again and see more next time but we do hope our wide open spaces, many mature trees, arboretum, Japanese bridge, lake and water garden are enjoyable throughout our open season.

Beautiful
Aug 2020 • Couples
Visited the gardens on a beautifully sunny day after our first attempt at visiting was thwarted by heavy rain! Really pleased we made the effort to go back. The gardens are beautiful with a stunning range of colours. Tea room was serving takeaways and my cream tea was delicious! Highly recommended if you are in the area.

A wonderful family day out for a very reasonable price
Aug 2020 • Family
We were holidaying in Kent with our two small children (18 months and 3 years) and looking for somewhere to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of the beach. The day of our visit was a very hot one (temperatures topped 32 degrees in the afternoon) but there was plenty of shade to shelter from the heat. In the 10 acres of garden there was also amble space for the children to burn off some energy and they both enjoyed looking at the wide variety of plants and flowers. The Japanese rock garden was the perfect spot for a picnic, shaded by the towering acers and the sound of the stream made for a serene backdrop.
All in all, it was a brilliant day and we would certainly have spent more than the 2-3 hours of our visit if it had not been so hot. In my opinion, the gardens compare to any of the RHS gardens I have visited previously which makes the entrance fee all the more reasonable (£7 for adults, free for under 4s and £2.50 for children 4 and over.)
If you are in the area I would definitely recommend checking Mount Ephraim Gardens out - you won't regret it.

Beautiful
Aug 2020 • Family
Took my 4 year old, my mum and mother in law for a day trip out. We were not disappointed. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, lots of space to stay safe and socially distance.

There is an animal hunt to keep little ones busy as well as the Miz Maze. My little one loved finding out the names of the trees in the arboretum.

We decided to take a picnic, which we had on the big open area opposite the car park but there is also a tea room if you prefer.

Toilet facilities were spotlessly clean with plenty of soap and anti bac gel to hand. Would definitely recommend a day out here, we will be back soon I'm sure.

Attended garden's on Sunday for Cherry Festival, first booked event for me since Lockdown. Excellent organisation thank you. My second visit to these beautiful gardens but the first during a pandemic and can honestly say you did it well. Thanks also for super clean toilets 👍. Cherry's lovely too.
