My wife and I decided to hire a guide for 2 of our days in the Vezere Valley area to visit the prehistoric caves and learn more about the area. We were very happy with our guide, Bruno. His witty sense of humor kept us entertained while we learned about the region. He is a true local and it's nice... More

We just returned from a trip to the Dordogne Region. We were fortunate to find a guide from this forum named Bruno. He was truly outstanding. He planned the day for us, took us to the important caves and drawings, and a castle, and was a pleasure to spend the day with - if you are going to this area... More

Last September's month in France, our highlight was Sarlat-la-Caneda and surrounds. We stayed 7 great days in B&B Les Cordeliers. Our holiday was about having a French experience, so our trip planning involved selecting a nice part of France - with a nice place to base ourselves. Les Cordeliers was a great choice on both counts. I had not realised... More

I travelled to Domme in Dordogne, France a few days ago, which is a medieval fortified town about 250 meters above sea level. The ramparts of the town overlook the valley with the Dordogne river that flows through and, the views are spectacular to say the least!! The visit coincided with market day which I'm told is rather packed during... More

Experience the best of region with a tour organised by "Durdogne fellow traveller". Beatrice provided us with all the essentials for an unforgettable four day cycling tour around the Dordogne region. Our maps, an itinerary (including fabulous lunch and dinner recommendations) and organised accommodation surpassed what was expected. The cycling distances being perfect, with stunning scenery, brilliant food and accommodation... More

Beatrice and Bruno have a nice bar on a sheltered courtyard. You will find souvenirs, cards, etc. and they will always welcome you with a friendly smile. You should come here if you are tired of seeing what all the other tourists see. They will give you good advice for day trips, advice on Dordognes romanesque history and architecture. You... More

If you want to know the region in depth and enjoy the splendid scenery, go with Dordogne Fellow Traveller. Bruno and Beatrice are knowledgable and personable. My husband and I really enjoyed our day with Bruno learning the history and visiting sites that are historically important but less tourist trotted.
