A small building at the back of the cathedral that is empty. A lot of people walking up to it and in and straight out again! Must be missing something myself. Have a look but don't expect much. Sorry.

Visited here whilst walking around Sarlat. The significance of it explained later by a guide . Very interesting and lovely views of the city around this part too.

In a small garden behind the St. Sacerdos Cathedral stands a circular stone tower which reminds a huge rocket - the Lantern of the Dead. This is probably the most ancient building in Sarlat and dates from 1180. This building is also named St. Bernard...More

There is nothing to see but its free. A circular room about 12 feet diameter and 15 feet high. There is no history atteched to it.

This is a small, round building with local historical significance in Sarlat but there is nothing inside the building to see.

This ossiary or bone depository is a fascinating piece of architecture, tucked behind the cathedral of Sarlat.

This building has been moved from it's original site but is still close to the cathedral. Used by monks to pray for the dead. Simple in the inside but worth a look.

OK, an interesting looking building due to its odd shape, but not worth more than a passing look. No one is sure what it was actually used for!

This lantern was on each time we went past......finally entered and saw, as went down cobblestone steps and walkways, some tombstones in the courtyard, and the tower, and terraced gardens, we assume. In November nothing was in bloom! And the walkway meanders around into town....More

A very interesting structure to visit, just behind the central cathedral.this and many other ancient constructions are all in town centre.
