This museum is worth it for the architecture alone. Sure there are weird artifacts lying about and trashy looking mannequins wearing period clothing, but the place itself is fantastic to explore. We had a great visit. It’s right near the geese statues and you can get great photos of Sarlat from up on the balconies. The strange artifacts are also fun to look through, including fossils and prehistoric implements.

Not a very well done historical museum. There was a hodgepodge of different objects and furnishing for different time periods. The information in English, given out on laminated cards, was not terribly useful. Not much to learn there about the history of Sarlat.

We thoroughly enjoyed this house museum in the core of the old city. Very well organized self-guided tour through life and history of the area.

In the heart of Sarlat old town this building is listed as one of the most remarkable in Sarlat. Quite small in the scheme of beautiful old homes/chateau, but a good size to be able to get around it and take in all the information and artifacts, including the strange curiosities brought back by the early navigators of 17th century, in the basement.

Great little manor house with lovely items intact and looking as though the Lord and lady just went to church. Fantastic items of curiosity. When in Sarlat, make a visit. It takes about 40 mins.
