As a port, the ‘Port de plaisance’ of Vannes is a bit of a disappointment to landlubbers because there isn’t much else to see than rows of moored pleasure boats on the Marle river. No boat is moving and the sea is far away. The...More

Beautiful place to visit. We stayed right on the harbour. Always something happening. Lots of lovely eating places to choose from and bars to relax and have a beverage.

Nice port to visit on a sunny day. Lots of boats, lots of money, and lots of maintenance. It is said that the happiest days of a boaters' life are when the boat is purchased, and the day it is sold. Not being a boating...More

Couldn't believe the number of pleasure craft moored in the Marina when we first got into Vannes and were looking for the tourist office, right next door to the moorings ! The whole of Vannes is slanted towards the Port, Bay and then the Atlantic...More

Nice place, central parking, short walk from old town, calm and at the same time pretty. Many people were eating sandwiches in the area to take in the views also a few restaurants offering this view as well as good food.

A lovely area where there are boats - mostly sailing craft. The area is open and spacious and just nice to wander around. The town gate is a super entrance to the town which is wonderful.

We were advised to do the three hour boat trip from the Port and it was excellent. Unfortunately the guiding was all in French with no translation but I managed to translate most of it. Big clean boat with loos and a bar and on...More

Plenty of parking, restaurants and loos around this central area. Boats and surroundings are always interesting, and this is a place for watching - boats and people. We're are usually here in summer, and nearly always enjoy sunshine.
