About
We are a small, fully-operational vineyard in the south of France practicing organic growing, cultivation, harvesting and production methods. Our winemaker, Serge Baux, is a man of passion whose philosophy is rooted in a respect for nature. Only a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean, mid-way between Perpignan and Canet along the ancient Roman VIA DOMITIA (containing the oldest vineyards of the Mediterranean countries), the Baux estate is spread out over 20 hectares, 12 of which are planted with vines in full production. A completely restored 18th century Catalan Mas houses the vinification, aging and bottling processes. We are also lucky to have a unique terroir, found in very few other places in the world, covered in naturally-formed round stones sitting on a clay bedrock, and we boast strictly manual green harvests with highly-selective hand-sorting of our grapes, producing exceptionally high-quality wines.

We came on a whim and were welcomed with open arms by the staff. A very informative tour about winemaking and an amazing wine tasting with some real quality stuff. Would recommend visiting even if you are not normally very interested in wine - it certainly opened a new world for me.

What an amazing experience, the highlight of our trip to Perpignan. Thank you Marie-Pierre! What a wonderful host.
The vineyard is beautiful and we learned a lot about how they make the wine, the taste difference between the wines and also how they have grown their business through high quality, organic wine.
Highly highly recommend! Please visit early in the holiday so that you can buy some wine to take back and enjoy for the rest of the holiday.

Such an enjoyable 2 hour tour of Mas Baux vineyards with the engaging and irrepressible Serge. This is an intimate and interesting tour of a working South of France organic vineyard with the opportunity to taste many of the superb wines made there. Came away really impressed with the scientific precision involved in making wines of this standard. Couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough.

We had a great visit at Mas Baux in Canet-en-Roussillon!! My partner and I discovered the wonderful vineyard as it was just around the corner of our camping site, just a couple of minutes cycling. We decided to check it out and asked for a tour/tasting, we had a very warm welcome by Mélissa. Yet it was really busy that day and she asked if we were able to come back another time as she was afraid she did not have enough time for us. And we were very happy that she told us, the next day we almost had a private tour (in English, her English is great) and she took all the time for us! They really focus on quality, for both their visitors and the wines.
It was also great to see how involved Mr. and Mrs. Baux were, very impressive at that age. You feel really at home at their estate and you can feel the passion which you definitely taste it in the wines!
As we were by bike, we came back another day to buy some wines and the same warm welcome again, Mélissa even did remember it was my Birthday which was very sweet!

Good to call in advance to make sure they have time. Really good english and good explanation for family of 5. 9,12,15 years Old which found it fun and interesting. So nice and friendly. Denmark is part of their marker

A beautiful vineyard and cellar door in Roussillon run by the delightful Mr & Mrs Boux. A big thank you to Melissa who introduced to the history of the vineyard and went out of her way to make it an unforgettable experience for us visiting from Australia. Mrs Boux also took us through a delicious array of natural, organic wines and told us the sentimental stories behind how they were produced and named. A must visit if nearby.

Mas Baux was a really interesting visit. We met with Mr Baux, who is a retired rugby player for the Catalan Dragons. At 50 years old he decided to change his work and went to study and after wards started the vinyard.
Although its small in comparison, its amazing how few staff they have at the vinyard.
We also met with Mrs Baux who was charming and loved talking to the children the vistors brought.
Mas Baux produces numerous wines that include white, Red and Rose/Blush wine that includes interesting sweet wine.
Mr Baux is still experimenting with the various wines.
The vines in some areas are oiver 100 years old.
After the interesting tour from a very knowledgeable team member (sorry I didn't catch the name), we had a tasting of 12 different wines.
This was very nice and relaxed and you come away a bit sozzled.
I think I would do this again but with the food tasting to get the wines full taste.
This is a very good visit for anyone, in a lovely location with lovely hosts.

We just had a wonderful wine tasting experience (6 adults and a baby). Melissa was extremely knowledgeable and made our experience one to remember. A lovely family, Mrs baux brought her granddaughters toys out for my son to play with and Mr baux also came to talk with us. A very personal experience and a wonderful family run winery ! Would highly recommend a visit !
