Hands down the BEST tour I have ever taken! An absolutely FANTASTIC day!! I’ve lived and travelled all over the globe (North America; Caribbean Europe; Africa; Middle East) and I can honestly say “The Battle of the Somme Guided Day Tour from Arras” was by far the best experience I have ever had. My guide for the day (Jackie) was a star! Knowledgeable; interesting; engaging; personable; Jackie demonstrated a genuine passion for the subject matter. Thank you for an unforgettably amazing day. Wow Carey, thank you. It was great to get back in the saddle and see how the tour worked with the COVID 19 restrictions, so having a vehicle large enough that you can sit a good distance behind the driver yet with the PA system still hear everything, and using our hand sanitiser everytime you re enter the vehicle keeps everyone safe-the outdoor nature of these tours means it has got to be one of the safest ways to see the battlefields. All our tours are private now so we were pleased to be able to adjust the itinerary to take in your Canadian heritage. Have a great time in the UK.

Jackie and Rod were fantastic in arranging a special tour for my wife, my son and I to visit the areas where my great great uncle died during World War 1. This was just outside Arras and we stayed a few nights in Arras, Rod collected us from our accommodation and took us to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission nearby, he had clearly done his research and had a lot of information on trenches and locations to basically pinpoint almost exactly where my great great uncle died. We did a walk of the area (now a farmers field) and Rod helped my little lad find some shrapnel and a bullet casing, it was fascinating. We then went to some of the immaculately kept commonwealth graves in the villages nearby, which was concluded with a view of the village that the film 1917 was based on (at the end)

I must thank Rod for our private Battlefield tour of Arras and surrounds on December 17th. It was very moving to see the places that my Grandfather was when he was enlisted in The British Troops, Norfolk Regiment in WWI. Rod had such an extensive knowledge of the war history of the area and we were very grateful that he suggested we see the Wellington Caves under Arras also. Thank you Rod and Jackie for the detailed planning of our special day.
