I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewer who said everything was in French, our experience couldn't have been better. I was given a complete guide in english and both guides tried their best to make me feel as included as possible. The horses are gorgeous and this history behind the Haras is interesting.

Been trying to get to this place for the last few years, however me managed it this year.... It was in my view a bit of a disappointment...The parking initially is on he road outside of the venue,so first come first served.Secondly which is a fundamental issue in that the commentary is only in French....So when you are touring the stables... Had a lovely afternoon looking around the stables and watching the shows. The grounds are lovely and you can just wander and see horses in their stables. The shows were very entertaining and overall it was good value. Also, parking just outside the gate.

Found this by chance on something of a mystery tour. We arrived just in time to see the live display of some very skilful and often humorous riding skills...The horses were lovely, when I say riding skills there was more than that, one scene had a horse showing some great comic timing in something of a slapstick sketch. There was... More

After reading reviews we thought it would be worth a visit as only 40 min drive and we weren't disappointed. The stables were immaculate and staff friendly. The shows were great fun and even though we didn't understand what was being said. The enthusiasm of the performers/staff was great to see, they clearly love their jobs and the horses in... More

Interesting place to visit to give you a break from the beach, It is one of the best haras in France and children will get to pet and clean the horses if you are lucky to be on time. The shows at night time are a must even if you are not that much into horses. The dressage skills involved... More

Another review from a couple who turned up at 3.30pm and still thought that €5 each was worthwhile. Two demos seen - enjoyed ourselves. Would be enjoyable for those who know what they're looking at (who doesn't love a nose around someone else's yard) and those who know little.

We visited this site as my wife owns and spends a lot of time around horses. "Haras" is French for Stud so basically translated turns into "Stud of the Vendee" You can stroll through all the stables of which there are loads! There are grounds and a large menage, we sat by the menage and watched a horse being schooled,... More

We went on a day which was pouring down with rain but this didn't dampen our enthusiasm. Large number of fine horses and donkeys, very well schooled and you could stroke them all without any issue. Because of the torrential rain the displays were cancelled but we still got the opportunity to watch practices, which showed some brilliant dressage. Pony... More

Excellent value (only 5€ entrance for adults), Lovely old buildings, enjoyable displays and shows. It's worth checking the website to find out what's on and when, but I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone who likes horses.
