One of the largest city squares in Calais, ringed with shops and restaurants and is home to the Tour de Guet and the statue of Yvonne and Charles. Twice a week the square turns into a large open-air market.

Probably the busiest area of Calais by the sea and a good place if you are hungry as most of the eateries are around here! Good parking nearby in the square!

It is fairly easy to park here - there are a number of cafe-bars - and restaurants as well as some useful shops and ATM's within easy walking distance. There is often a market and quite frequent fairground type attractions for children. The architecture is,...More

We always visit Place d'Armes when we visit on a Saturday morning - a fabulous market, full of wonderful fresh produce, as well as meat, fish and clothing etc. Well worth a visit, and exceptionally well priced.

In the centre of Calais is the place d'armes that has the de gaulle statue, also the medieval watch tower. This is a large square with shops and somewhere to eat.

In centre of Calais and has a statue of Charles De Gaulle and his wife. All right if a market there but otherwise not spectacular.

Place d’Armes is in the centre of Calais but unfortunately it is not the most attractive of squares being surrounded by neon lit restaurants & bars and uninspiring apartment blocks. The square along with the rest of Calais was mostly destroyed during World War II,...More

Quite a bit of Calais feels like it has seen better days ... but this part of town feels like it's doing pretty well. As well as the sculpture and the tower, there are loads of nice shops (including an "artisan bakery") and restaurants. I...More

This square is quite attractive. Even though it was evening, there were still many people at the square, some biking, some strolling and some enjoying eating in restaurants. Moreover, every Wednesday they have a market with groceries, cheese, bread and many other items, besides flowers....More
