Advised to arrive 45 mins before sail time - we arrive an hour and a half beforehand and because the passport control operation was so slow we missed our ferry and had to wait for the next one. It was apparently a ‘very busy time’...More

Got 'told off' for speaking French to an English-speaking Ports Authorities worker in Calais. Maybe the Ports Aurorities should put up signs showing the languages their employees would like to be addressed in? After all, it's fairly difficult to judge language speakers on sight alone.

They have done some improvement in the passengers terminal, especially the toilets. Still not a place you want to spend too much time though.

Traveling from the UK to France via the Port de Calais. The port appears to be in the midst of renovations, but seems to be clean and well-maintained. Bathrooms can be found upstairs, along with food and drink.

It appears they have spent some money over the last few years to really improve this port, the toilets are now left in a pretty good state and the port itself appears a lot cleaner. Always found the staff to be helpful & polite.

On our trip to the UK through the port of Calais, we were afraid of getting lost... no, the directions, the easyness of going through customs, everything is very well explained, no stress at all! Great

Better known for the ferry portion, there is a large fishing fleet that operates out of here. As we were walking around at night watched one of the boats off-load the catch of flat fish. It was interesting to talk to the fisherman and the...More
