Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a gorgeous view of it on the way to Cassis from Marseille. The winding roadway that hugs the coastline gives you some of the best views. We could even see the terraced grape vineyard from Clos Sainte Magdeleine on the side of Cape Canaille. We were told that it is the highest sea cliff of France. It reminded me so much of Pointe du Hoc in Normandy (only it's bigger). The town of Cassis with the beautiful Chateau overlooking the port is also viewable from the roadway. As you arrive in Cassis, there are many tour boats that will take you to the calanques where you can get an up close view of it. I'm sure it's a beautiful view from the top, but it's also beautiful when seeing it from below.

A stunning viewpoint at the top of the cliffs, 394 metres high (the highest sea cliffs in France), situated at the top of a narrow winding road between Cassis and La Ciotat.
The view on a clear day is unbelievable, looking down towards Cassis, over a turquoise sea dotted with dozens of boats.
Don't miss it - a real Kodak moment!

We had a shore excursion from the port of Toulon. Our guide took us there for our first stop before the crowds hit. The view was breathtaking and I can't imagine visiting the area without stopping by. If you have an hour or two take a boat tour of the Calanques in Cassis.

My fiance was terrified, but since I am a bit of a dare-devil, I had no problem stepping close to the edge of this cliff. Absolutely amazing!

The view here is breathtaking, we came here at 6pm (August) and the view, the fresh air was great. It is best if you come here with your flycam. It is dangerous if you stand on the ledge to take photo (or selfie) so please beware

What an incredible site to take in the views of Cassis, the Mediterranean and the Calanques!! If you are anywhere close to Cassis, take a detour and head up onto this cape. The views are world class and unique to this area. It isn't necessary to take D141 all the way from Cassis to La Ciotat. You can turn around once you've seen the cliffs and head back to Cassis for lunch. Head out early as the crowds on the cliffs can be challenging but in the AM they are very tolerable. A most excellent way to spend a morning outside of Cassis. Cheers

We were in a small tour group. The drive up to the end itself wasn't that long, but since we came from Aix, it took us about an hour or less. From the carpark area we walked to the edge and oh wow the view was magnificent. It was in the day but I could imagine how beautiful it would be during sunset. A group of people were having a picnic, on a very small ground just between the rocks and the edge! Brave. Would totally appeal to people who just enjoy absorbing how beautiful the world is.

How much is a taxi ride from the port to Cap Canaille ?
Written 1 August 2018
It all depends, if you want to go to the first decent lookout, have a quick look and head back to town , then probably €25 or maybe more. If you want to go further in the taxi and explore further along the cliff, then it will be more. You can walk up which makes it a full day’s excursion (take plenty of water). But don’t miss it, some of the taxi drivers are negotiable and you can organise what you want to do before hand. Sometimes the road Rue Des Cretes, is closed due to high winds, heat, or fires. Ask at the info centre at the Port.

peut on faire l’excursion avec un bébé de 8 mois?
Written 30 April 2017
à mon avis, avec un bébé, le mieux est de se rendre en voiture au CAP CANAILLE et simplement d'admirer le paysage en divers endroits avec la poussette
