Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went out on Firth Of Clyde Boat Tours on a Mackerel Fishing excursion for £30. Caught a total of 55 Mackerel and a Haddock over the three hour slot, with the crew always on hand informing us where the fish were over the sounder. Hot Chocolate to die for.

Had a fab boat trip with Ed & Paula during the Wildlife & Scenic Tour. It was a very personal experience and they are both very passionate about the Firth. The scenery along the trip was just amazing and we saw lots of porpoises & birds. On the advice of Paula I got to see some seals the next day at a spot she recommended, so thank you! I hope to be back in Scotland again soon and will definitely have another trip with Firth of Clyde Boat Tours.

We did the wildlife and scenic tour with Paula and Ed. Both incredibly knowledgeable and very passionate about what they do. The views were absolutely amazing and we managed to see a variety of sea birds , some seals and a dolphin. A very cost effective way to see Scotland from another perspective. We will definitely be going out with them again.

We were visiting Scotland on a memorial tour for our parents who had met while sailing on the Clyde. When I could not find a boat company to take us sailing, I turned to Firth of Clyde Boat tours. I couldn't have made a better decision! Ed was amazing on the phone to arrange our tour and we arranged a private tour for our family of 6 similar to the wildlife tour. Ed and Paula greeted us warmly on the boat and we headed out to the Clyde. He took us anywhere we wanted and had listened to what we remembered our parents talking about. He even shut off the engine so we could experience the peace of just floating like sailing. Paula served us excellent cups of hot chocolate. Even though they book a max of 10 people, 6 was just right for the number of seats outside. We saw seals and porpoises under the excellent direction of our hosts who are passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area. We would highly recommend Ed and Paula with Firth of Clyde Boat tours!

Had a great day out on the boat for my Dads 60th. Ed and Paula were really knowledgeable on all of the wildlife and surrounding areas. We spotted seals and porpoises and different bird species.
They were so kind and friendly, they had decorated for us. Got my dad a card and even had some fizz for us to celebrate! So thoughtful!
An amazing day, have already told everyone and will be back for other special occasions or just a family day out!

Wow, Wow, Wow what a Brilliant tour we had with the lovely Ed, Paula and Nathan. The moment we got on we felt part of the family. They all made us feel so welcome. The instructions on safety chat was clear and easy to follow. We where handed binoculars and then off on our tour. Ed was very informative and pointed out places of interest with very detailed history which we enjoyed learning as we sailed. Paula was very informative about the different animals and what things meant, like porpoise and dolphin logging. Nathan was an extremely helpful young man, asking if wanted anything and was pointing and shouting to tell us when he spotted anything. Also a massive thank you to Nathan for dog sitting at times when we was busy looking through our binoculars and keeping him entertained with treats. We had a truly magical time and loved every minute. We took some really special memories away with us. Can’t wait to come back again. See you all soon

We boarded the boat in Inverkip and had a fabulous welcome on board and a safety briefing before setting sail.
Complementary Tea, coffee and Hot Chocolate was available.
We headed up river towards Gourock, passing the Cloch Lighthouse and up to Greenock before swinging out to the Sugar Boat where we stopped for photos and were luck enough to spot a wee seal who briefly popped it's head up for a wee nosey at us.
We then headed over to the other side of the river and back down past Dunoon before cutting back across to Invekip to finish up our 2 hour tour.
Sad that we never got to see the Dolphins or Porpoises.

After being warmly welcomed onto the boat we were offered warm drinks in reusable cup, very eco conscious! The facilities were great with lots of space onboard and a place to shield from the weather if needed as well as a small toilet. We spotted bottle nose dolphins, porpoise and seals with the help of the knowledgeable crew. It was an amazing day, I’d highly recommend!

We enjoyed it so much the first time we have been again! Ed and Paula are a friendly pair who not only know the area but are conscious of the natural habitats of the local wildlife. What we enjoyed the most was that unlike other potential tour boats operators, they will happily go off piste and head off in the direction of the latest reports. Today we say a pod of Dolphins 😊
