Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Konstanz is in fact a great town with a generally good atmosphere and plenty to see and do especially with acces to the many BSB ships to ferry you around the lake. Unfortunalty, since our last trip here in 2019 Konstanz has been plagued with graffiti and tagging everywhere. It has lowered the appeal to this once beautiful town and given it a trashy feeling. While the town is still safe and you can enjoy what it has to offer, it just isn't the same. Just across the lake in Meersburg we had an enjoyable day in a scenic surrounding without the trashy graffiti. To me this showed a larger community respect. Why Konstanz does not clamp down on all graffiti is beyond me, especially for a tourist town. MESSAGE TO KONSTANZ CITY OFFICIALS....MAKE YOU TOWN BEAUTIFUL AGAIN!

A stroll in the old town is a must. Perfectly renovated buildings and relaxed atmosphere. You just go from a beautiful building to another. Very nice.

Konstanz really surprised me. It is a city which has all. Good climate, beautiful lake, mountains in the distance, lots of history and nationalities, good restaurants and bars and the old town is in the middle of all. Quite some parts are car free luckily. It contains cosy small streets with beautiful buildings and large squares and boulevard streets which are alive. Everything is well maintained and perfect to do on foot because it isn't very big. It is really worth the time to take a couple of hours and stroll through the old town. Most restaurants and night life are also located here. Trough an underground passage at the station you can easily walk to the dock and the Constanz Lake.

A great neighborhood to stroll and love the history. Bordering on Lake Konstanz the old city is a lesson in history and architecture. The Christmas markets are in full swing

Walking in the centre of Konstanz is very pleasant. The old town is lovely. While walking in the narrow streets one can admire the beautifully decorated buildings. The Münster (main Church) is impressive. Because of shopping, cafés and restaurants the town was very lively.
Easy to get to by train too.

My friend and I had a glorious day in the old town. We walk around shopping and residential areas and around the harbor. Such a delight on a sunny autumn day.

The history of Konstanz is over 1,000 years old. The ages of some of the buildings are indicated on the side of the building and it is truly amazing when a building is listed as being from the 14th Century! It is great to explore all the alleys of the old town. The architecture is amazing! We enjoyed walking around town looking at the buildings and visiting the shops.

With friends living close by in Reisingen it was easy to decide to spend the day shopping in Konstanz, with it’s many fashion outlets. What surprised me was the mix of old world charm with modern conveniences. Parking was easy downtown (but we may have been lucky) and midday avoids the commuter traffic. Access to the lake takes some travel, but we’ll worth it.
