Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a very pretty church you can go in and have a look round for free so if you have some spare time you may as well. The muenster is better as you can climb up the tower

Our Group split in to sight seeing during out free time. We decided to visit the St Stephan's Church.

It was a pleasant visit and we absorbed the amazing architecture. Well worth a visit.

It was a pleasant day.

South of Germany has many churches. A lot of history of medieval times, Romans and resistance to Reformation.

This is one of the oldest existing churches in Germany, but, there is much more to this church than only its great age. It is also one of the most interesting churches to visit. It has a number of private chapels leading from the main church, all of which have their own special character. This is must-see sight in Konstanz..

if you like churches, you'll love this. It's very old, there are lots of beautiful artifacts, but if it matters- the only English labelling is in the basement, which is reasonably new. If you are happy to just admire the beauty and soak up the history, it is not to be missed. And be there when the bells ring too. .......

Sankt Stephan Kirche wasn’t lucky with us, or we weren’t lucky with it. Six years ago, staying in Konstanz, we left to visit this church for too late, since we didn’t know, that it’s understandably closed during the Wine Festival. The annual Wine Festival holds in every year at the end of July on the St. Stephan Square. I’m just writing this info for the visitors in the future, to avoid disappointments.
I this year we had the same problem, but on the day, when we had to leave, early morning we went to the church. It met our expectations. Just as beautiful as we hoped that it would be. Since the interior of the church went undergone countless restoration, and the church was rebuilt and enlarged, there is nothing remained from the original medieval church from the 7th century. There are very few items from later times. Especially the pews in the sanctuary from around 1270, and a few sculptor and paintings, the mostly the decoration is from the 20th century.
My favorites were the pillars in the central nave with Renaissance paintings of the Apostles, the very new and beautiful organ, the stunning arched windows with late-Gothic stained glass, and a side altar with the painting depicts the Holy Family.
For every visitor is a must see the oldest church in Konstanz.

We visited Konstanz for the annual July wine festival in St. Stephan's plaza, so when we tried to visit the church it was barricaded against possible vandalism, however on the Sunday following the festival it was open and we got to see it. We were actually looking for a wooden statue of Jesus that we missed in Muenster but this is a pretty church worth visiting in its own right and practically next door to the Muenster Cathedral.
