I discover it by coincidence while trying to find the St Michael's Church during walk from Dom. Unfortunately was closed but learned from the shop owner, just at the corner, that it has very nice frescoes at the ceiling. I will visit the Church when...More

If you are on the "Way" you can stamp your pamphlet here. I believe this is the only one in Bamberg. The next is in Halstadt. Another of the classic churches that are such a part of Bamberg and Bavaria.

We went in and had a great tour of the church. The main altar facing the centre nave was great. Appreciative! The baroque organ at the opposite end is equally impressive. Do also take a look at the pictures beneath the organ. Not only these,...More

This is an OK church to look at from the outside, as its interior are quite underwhelming. There was a service in the church during our visit and the acoustics was not great.

We were struck by the stark interior of this church but there was an amazing painting on the ceiling which caught our eye. A place of tranquility and peace. Worth a visit.

The inside contains no major things from an architectural, pictoral or sculptural point of view. Obviously this is a place of worship. Can be visited while walking from the Dom to St Michael's Church.

Jakobskirche was originally constructed in the 11th century, but the decor inside is surprisingly modern. Well worth a stop if you take the clearly marked route from the Bamberger dom to Michaeskirche.

This simple church seems to get lost in the overall Bamberg complex. But after coming down with "Church Overload" Jakobskirche was refreshing

Ran into this literally and metaphorically on the way from the Dom to St Michael's monastery grounds, and it remains memorable for its unpredisposing purity and archtectonic style A fine and memorable interlude, highly recommended for the churchbuff.
