Quedlinburg reminds me of a quieter version of Bavaria's Rothenburg ob Der Tauber. Quedlinburg has it's tourists, but unlike Rothenburg tourist do not overrun it the busload. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent here, every small winding street has something nice to look at. This town is only suitable for people who are able to walk on uneven ground as the streets are cobbled and uneven at most times.

Fabulous old town,, lovely city, with lots of accommodation houses,, restaurants, Eis Cafes and shops. We stayed three nights, could have stayed longer. Our tours around the smaller towns in the Harz Mountains were equally enjoyable. A great tourist area.

Some of the streets in the old part of town are quite touristy. Street vendors everywhere, but one can easily ignore the circus like atmosphere and concentrate on the history of the town. A visit to the castle and church next door is rewarding, as...More
