The chapel is wonderful: you are in the middle and the artwork wraps you. The visit is interesting and detailed, because there are both an info paper and a video that explain the paintings in details. Just one note: pay attention to visit time, because they are close at lunch-time but it's not specified on the website.

Not much of his w Orkney here. But well worth a visit. He does/did tend to paint over the lines. Favourite is "Man with hat".apart from all his brilliant sea urchins and Ulysses!

Great little town that Picasso stayed in to learn ceramics. Museum of ceramics has an outstanding collection.

I've never been a big fan of Picasso (mostly just indifferent), but after going through this museum I actually appreciate him and his work much more. This museum is relatively small, and mostly offers to the visitors his sketches and artwork from his few months living in Antibes, in the actual building in which the museum is housed. It is... Fantastic location overlooking the sea full of some wonderful pieces we hadn't seen or heard of before. Easy to negotiate and people on hand to answer queries. Discount for golden oldies too which paid for our wine at lunch!!

We visited Vallauris in February. The sun was shining and it was pleasantly warm. The town itself looks a little tired and one felt that the rich who inhabit nearby Antibes and Cannes pass this little town by. Having said that we did have a lovely snack of olive nibbles with two glasses of top rose before venturing into the... More
