The views are really beautiful - there is a river, mountains, forests etc. The monument looks great as well. The only downside is that it is not free and there is not much to see for the money.

This is a memorial to the victory in the Napoleonic wars, stressing freedom, unity and liberty. It is currently undergoing extensive renovations so access is limited and the exterior is partly covered. There are some great views of the Danube Gorge from this area. Toilets...More

The Befreiungshalle is located on top of a hill which you can either access by foot, bycicling or car. Its a beautiful architecture inside and outside and on top of it you´ll have a good view over Kelheim.

Big round hall commemorating the German wars against Napoleon in the first part of the 19th Century. Interesting and with good views over the river.

You can drive up the hill or take the little train. There are great views of the Danube and surrounding countryside that do not require payment to the Befreiungshalle itself.

Just because people are keeping this set up to date, is not a reason to miss this view. It is understandable that Austrians, German, and Hungarians were not fans of Napoleon. His armies ravaged Europe and caused innumerable casualties. This Ludwig the Mad monument celebrates...More

Hadley any tourists here. It is a surreal site. Just amazing. Bit of a trek to get up to the ill but well worth it in my opinion.
