Meersburg Castle is a great way to spend an hour or two in Meersburg. We did a self-guided tour. We bought an English information booklet for the castle which was good value at €1. There are lots of rooms to see in the castle and...More

The Burg in Meersburg gives a good idea of life in a castle. The displays are very good and include all the details of everyday life. The tour is well worth doing, if in the region. Also the views of the town and Bodensee are...More

Germany in general is famous with castles. This one is really special. It is build in the hillside above the biggest lake in Europe. Must read the history of this castle while you're there. Fascinating. The town itself is a must visit if you're in...More

This castle is reached by a ferry-ride from Konstanz. Parts of it date back to the 7th century! We got an English translation of the Guidebook with the entrance fee and enjoyed wandering and exploring. Throughout the Castle, there are fantastic views of Lake Konstanz...More

I believe this is the longest inhabited castle in Germany and perched on the hill at the top of the old town it's a steep climb up from the harbour area. The ticket office is within the gift shop before the moat bridge entrance. Tickets...More

Visited Meersburg town and castle after a long struggle to get parking (parking in lower town near the ferry to Konstanz was laughable and impossible) but managed to get a space in the upper town- this is time limited so be careful of the clock....More
