Having been to lake Annecy and lake Geneva on our trip lake titisee was a let down. It is in a beautiful setting in the Black Forest but the waterfront seems dirty and the town is geared to tourists and bus tours

We walked to Lake Titisee from Hinterzarten, while on a tour of the Black Forest Area. The lake was still and dark, there was a charm about it that made us sit for a while alongside on the benches. Very beautiful. This was the first experience when we arrived. If you walk further into the town, you come across many... More

Although I experienced going lake Titisee in November and it was cold but It was really beautiful. It was really cold that our mobile phone turned off but I loved it. The nature was amazing , we went through Black Forest and hell valley to reach there. We saw stag statue on our way(the statue us about a legend). Also... More

Having read lots of wonderful reviews and looking forward to our visit, we were somewhat underwhelmed by the area, as the town seems to focus more on the tourist souvenir business than ensuring the lake and its surrounds are the main attraction. Glad we visited so fine if you are in the area, but would not go out of our... More

we decided to visit lake titisee and wasn't disappointed we loved it so calm by the lake and then so busy with the many shops, cafes and restaurants offering all things you want to spend your money on before leaving this area at Lake Titisee. We took a boat trip on Lake Titisee and for only 5 euros each and... More

The lake was originally formed by glacial activity and is about 2km long and 800 metres wide. Boat rides are extremely popular however in the winter it is frozen. There are many shops selling the Black Forest cuckoo clocks as well as the typical Chinese made souvenirs that appear in all countries nowadays, plus many eating places. The boat trip... More

Visited last week. Worth visiting for a pleasant walk to the lake. Plenty of cafes and loads of shops selling the usual tourist stuff including cuckoo clocks. Gets very busy but worth a visit. Spotlessly clean streets.

The street leading upto the lake is so much fun. you see various restaurants and bars and cafes and sellers selling their stuff. there are small performers as well. you can sit on the benches around the lake or take a boat ride in the lake. its provides nice views in between the mountains.

This was our third trip to hidden gem in the Black Forest. Easy access 25 minute ride via local train from Frieburg. The main tourist area on the lake is no more than a 15 minute walk from the train station. Restaurant and souvenir shops are abundant. The lake is a beautiful sight, picturesque and offers various types of boat... More
