Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I had to experience this thing called the Graduation Tower. Check out Wikipedia to fully understand how this monstrosity works. For only 1,50 Euro, you can take a leisurely stroll enjoying salty, misty air. Make sure you breathe deeply to enjoy the full benefit of this salt sair. I am not sure about the science behind it, but what I can say is that it does work. I wish I had this closer to my home in Stuttgart as I wod come often. Families come with strollers and picnic here. I strongly suggest spending an hour or so taking this all in. You will feel better!

Going up close to the water and Brush. Smelling the salty air. the day I went it was 35 Deg. C and the difference in temperature between the two sides was amazing it felt so much cooler on the shade side. the science of the place is explained clearly via google lens on the many placards.

The Gradierbau is a large wooden structure that is designed to filter minerals from water. It's worth visiting if you are in the area and the attraction is meant to be therapeutic. Be aware that you may get water and salt on your clothes.

This attraction is only €1.50 or free with a Pfalz card.

The Gradierwerk in Bad Durkheim is a good place to visit while in town. Because we were staying at a local hotel we got free entrance. Walking up and down the structure you can breathe in the salty air! The view over the vineyards and the park is very nice as well.

Stopped here with friends to look at the dripping mineral water. It was very interesting, but would have been much more interesting if there was a guide in English. I had many questions, but nobody to ask!

The dripping water really gives the air the feel of sea air. It is particularly noticeable if you walk on the side opposite the wind. I don’t know who came up with this idea, but it is unique!

It really works. For just 1.50€ you can enter the wooden construct and walk through salty and humid air like at the sea.

We were doing the fine prescribed long walking tour of Bad Durkheim Old town area and after the great park came upon this amazing 300 meter long “device”. It is a Saline Concentrator. Built for helping the lungs by the use of breathing a more saline air... Sort of like living by the sea... It is on big honkin structure and has many hundred of thousands of brush branches supported by a very robust wooden structure. There is a scale model of a working waterwheel and pump system which supplies the brine to a miniature saline tower which will impress.
To me, is seems like one heck of a lot of work to go to in look of salty air like the seaside but obviously they thought so in 1857 or so to build it and a couple of times when it burnt down.

This wooden structure lets the salty water from the natural source drip down over maximum surface area provided by bunches of twigs. In doing so it lets the fresh and salty air diffuse all over the end of the park. The Gradierwerk is 18 meters high and 200 meters long, originally built in the 19th century. Aside from the supposed health benefits, the view over the vineyards is spectacular and the park lovely, with winding paths, benches to rest on and play area for children.

I never saw such a structure before. I know other places dedicated to healing by using thermal water like Roman baths in Spain and elsewhere, but never saw this. I find it was a wise idea to help people by providing them healthy air to breathe. I think it´s a part of the culture and landscape in the Deutsche Weinstrasse and an interesting place to visit.

Plain in some ways but worth a visit just to see how big a project dedicated workers can build. Also worth the modest entry fee to get a close-up view of the works and feel the micro-climate created by the evaporation, almost an air conditioning effect.
