We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

St. Peter's Church - an old city church dating back to 1000 AD. It was dark inside. I was able to examine interesting frescoes and the historical panels. Admission was free.

It's definitely worth seeing when you're in Lindau. The outside and the inside are very old and well-maintained. The placard inside gives an honest description of the disturbing SS symbols, indicating that some of the people memorialized here were Nazis. I wish that there were seats, to allow for some quiet reflection.

This quiet old church is in a more secluded corner on the north side of the old town. It's worth pushing open the door and venturing inside. When your eyes adjust to the darkness you'll see there's a light switch which will then illuminate the interior. Then you'll see how old it is! There's also a faintly disturbing memorial to WW1 - a huge soldier lies at the back of the church, dressed in distinctive WW1 junker style. On the wall to his left are plaques to Lindau's dead from two world wars. The information is honest about some of them belonged to the SS and makes no bones about how bad this was. All in all, therefore, it's a fascinating place to visit.

This is now a memorial to the fallen in WW1 and 2. There is an explanation in both German and English regarding the politics of war.
Very calming and well worth a visit.

Good spot for photographs, open during the bank holiday. Small and well maintained. Maybe more touristic information around the area.

Interesting old church converted to a German war memorial to the local men killed in action during the two world wars.

Lindau is a great place for a short weekend run. The island is small, and there are several historic places to visit, as well as nice food and weather.

Worth a quick visit to appreciate the history and the architecture considering the age of the structure. Beautiful both from both the inside and out.

Small but hugely fascinating.

Nearly 1,000 years old, it’s the history from the 20th century that has the most interest. It’s my first time seeing German war memorial and it gave me plenty to consider about the futility of war.

The WW2 memorial is particularly striking; seeing the names of soldiers with SS inscriptions and the acknowledgment of the linkage to the worst atrocities in human history is especially thought provoking.

It is only when you go inside and see what this old church is like that you realsise its significance. The building itself is more than 1000 years old, and is now a war memorial. mostly to German soldiers, with also a Jewish mention There are also with many frescos that are worth seeing.
