Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice level hike along the side of a mountain. Lovely views of Lake Lucerne. Spent some time in the lobby of the luxury hotel just resting afterwards. But, I would have rather spent more time in Lucerne.

A friendly local adviced us to see the views from Bürgenstock. The mountain has a luxury resort with a view point that is also open for guests not staying at the hotel. We had a few hours to spend and wanted to experience the mountains again, as it had been cloudy during our visit to Pilatus. We took a boat from Lucerne and then funicular to Bürgenstock.

The views were amazing and it was nice to see the mountains also from the lake.

There are a few nice restaurants at the hotel but they weren’t open yet. We weren’t welcome to have drinks at the bar either, as it was apprently for the hotel guests only at that time.

I went to have dinner with my parents to celebrate my birthday. I would really want to share our BIG THANK YOU to Nelson that was taking care of our table from the beginning till the end. He made sure that everything I ordered was gluten free, assured us with safety and provide us the best service regarding the smallest details. The food was fabulous, such an unique and impressive concept. Moreover, Maik, the concierge took care of us since we entered the hotel and made sure to bring us to our reservation in the restaurant. Really impressed by the hospitality they provided would like to show our gratitude especially to Maik and Nelson. Thank you again and totally we’ll come back!

THe Buergenstock offers comfortable hikes with spectacular views.
You can get here easily both in your own car or with public transport as well. Probably more economical with the car. We took the walk to the famous lift. It is a special experience. There were few tourists around, the atmosphere was really romantic.

Our reason for visiting Burgenstock was to ride the bergbahn (funicular railway) from the lake and continue to Stansstad on the 321 bus.

Being a public transport enthusiast, I wanted to get a picture of the bergbahn carriage leaving on its journey down to the lake. I was standing at what appeared an area open to the public.

However, the bergbahn officer in charge approached me and told me photography was prohibited for security reasons.

With the benefit of Google translate, he said it was a security issue and I had to leave. He said it was not a safety issue.

Whilst it was an unpleasant experience for a mature age visitor from Australia, I could perhaps understand the security issue because Burgenstock is clearly a high end destination.

There were few other tourists around. In fact the atmosphere was rather sterile and uninviting. Accordingly, we chose not to do the walk to the famous lift.

We took a few pictures from the main viewing deck (the bergbahn is obscured here) and walked through the car park to the 321 bus stop. The trip to Stansstad on the 321 was amazing. It took about 20 minutes.

So, I can say we’ve been to Burgenstock and have ridden the bergbahn but it’s not an area for “average Joe” tourists. There are many other more welcoming places in the general Luzern area.

Me and my husband went for our honeymoon. Staied at the WaldHotel inside Büergenstock resort for 5 days. The hotel is just amazing, perfect! Super new, clean (cleaning room service twice a day), quiet and calm environment, service is just flawless, from the checkin, to the drivers, the room maid, breakfast people, etc. Speaking of breakfast, it is just fenomenal! Huge variaty of delicious breads, cheese, fruits, etc etc. The SPA at WaldHotel is not chargeable and you can use as much as you want, the Spa was my favorite part. Extremely quiet, relaxing, many saunas, ice chamber, teas and aromatic waters all over. The outdoor poor is such an experience! It is 35 degress celcius and has more than 15 massage points all over its walls, incluing at the pool’s floor to massage your feet. I strongly recomend it by the sunset uner the view of the white-snow mountains. Besides, the many restaurants at the resort are amazing and my favorite was Spices!

Love this view. Great design of the rooms. Incredible bathroom with lake view. Have a look at the infinity pool. Amazing and unique. Book restaurants ahead as they are always busy

The view from the hotel is amazing, however service in the restaurants and bars is still very slow. Breathtaking SPA and very friendly service at the front desk.
