It took friends from Taiwan to bring us (resident nearby for many years) to this amazing museum. Crammed full of all sorts of exhibits (antique kitchen utensils, old prints, stuffed birds, a crocodile, medals (including a couple of Legions d'honneur), farming implements and lots more. The star attraction, however, is the collection of stuffed frogs. Following renovation in 2012, these... More

The museum is really unique and if you are in Estavayer, do not miss it. It is located near the church and is accessed by going up a flight of stairs. The tickets cost CHF 5 for adults and CHF 3 for children. The lady at the counter was very friendly. The museum houses a collection of weapons, old keys,... More

This is a quirky small museum; easily overlooked. It's main claim to fame is it's strange collection of grotesque, stuffed frogs. They are totally unique and the work of some depraved weirdo, who caught the poor things, stuffed them and displayed them doing really un-froglike activities. It has to be seen to be believed!!

If you have some extra time in Estavayer-le-Lac, The Frog Museum (Le Musée des Grenouilles) is an interesting option for something to do. The museum is very small, will likely take you less than an hour to see, and only cost 5 chf apiece for adults (3 chf for students and kids up to 16 yrs) during our visit. The... More

a very unique museum that displays, amongst other things, stuffed frogs! Great old-school museum, great for kids too.
