strolled around here with the family, on a hot and sunny day. Quiet and interesting place, even saw some fish. Great asset to the town.
Pity the mill is still closed.

We attended an evening visit with a group. We were made most welcome and learned about the history of the mill and its restoration. The mill has some great, dedicated volunteers who provided lots of information. The demonstration of the mill and the associated models, visual aids and displays was first class and better than our expectations. Very nice, home made cakes were provided too.

We went to the steam fair, something which I have attended before.
Always very interesting, worth a visit.
The mill is great with lots of volunteers ready to answer and questions and help.
Everyone always enjoys grinding their own flour.
The reserve is lovely to walk around have done this with younger children and by myself.

Originally we came for the walker's group which we did and was told at the end of the 2hour walk we could visit the mill which we did. And Wow. It was amazing. Friendly people and very knowledgeable. Never been this way before. Parking was excellent and the fact that the Mill was free was even better.. Ended up spending the whole day there and we enjoyed it. Tea room excellent value for money, clean and very good service. We'll definitely recommend a visit and the working mill is a credit to all the volunteers. Thankyou.

Took two of my grandchildren for a lovely walk, saw a few butterflies, ducks, swans with their cygnets. The mill was closed as was the cafe but we enjoyed our short time there

Myself, my daughter and five grandchildren visited today for the Skull Island treasure hunt. It was an excellent activity, very well thought out and kept the children fully engaged for over two hours, no mean feat ! The ladies (and gentleman!) who ran it did a fantastic job it was obvious that a lot of thought and preparation had gone into it. Very well done everyone and thank you for a lovely afternoon.

I don't recall seeing any toilets that could be used when the Mill is closed.

Is the walk around the nature reserve pushchair friendly? (As long as it’s dry of course)

Just about - like you suggest 'as long as it's dry' it'll be okay.

What is it like for pushing someone in a wheelchair.
Geoff L

I agree with the previous answer. It would be a challenge. Whilst it is relatively flat as far as walking is concerned, pushing a wheelchair is a different matter. In some places there is an actual path of sorts, but much of the walk is simply over a grassed area and it would need to be dry to even make an attempt. Sorry I can't be more positive, but I wouldn't want you to arrive there and face disappointment.

Hi, well behaved dogs are welcome in the nature reserve but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Dogs, except guide dogs are not allowed in the mill.

Sorry, I've had to break the URL up as trip advisor would allow me to put it in any other way.
