Absolutely Great experience.
Visited on an open day (Sunday) where many volunteers gathered and the water mill was operational. There were kind volunteers explaining at each step of the milling process. Well made models explaining the mechanics. For kids, loads of things to do including exploring the process and important machinery as well as making their own badges just for 50p. Absolutely worth a trip there to spend few hours with family.
Thank you for the great experience.

We decided to visit the nature reserve and were incredibly disappointing. It is very unkept and feels unloved , the shelters are full of rubbish (beer cans) and the wooden walk ways are a death trap! The only plus side it that there’s a nice pub up the road !

Stotfold Mill have two large events each year. The October one has a harvest theme with ploughing demonstrations, threshing, and lots of vintage vehicles. Its great to see some of the steam powered vehicles at work - sawing, lifting, ploughing etc. There are also dozens of stall selling hand made crafts by local makers; and stands from conservation charities like the Wildlife Trust and Ivel Valley. Food and drink is on sale and we especially enjoyed the very freshly pressed apple juice.
There there is a traditional fun fair (which fits in well with the steam). On event days the mill is open and grinding wheat. There are informative displays in the mill and friendly volunteers to explain the working machinery. At the small shop in the mill you can buy freshly ground flour. You can easily spend a day talking to crafts people, looking at the displays and admiring the vintage steam engines. A fun and very affordable day out. Talking to the Ivel Valley folks there are some lovely walks in the area and we will certainly be back.

Enjoyed a Sunday at Stotfold Mill & Nature Reserve. Arrived about 10.30am before Mill opened at midday to park & wander the nature reserve first. Had been worried the car park could fill up nearer mill opened as it was a milling day. Didnt need to worry.
Weather made it a lovely day to do two circuits of the reserve. Bird hides to sit in the quiet & watch the ponds. Also a net dipping pontoon. Plenty of info boards to help identify the trees & expected wildlife.
The watermill was very interesting. Miller gave his talk & again plenty of info to read about exhibites on mill & Stotford and surrounding area.
Very small limited stocked shop. Milled flour & little else of interest.
The tea room was absolutely fab! Run by friendly ladies serving a range of cakes & tasty treats. Proper tea. Enjoyed a scone & cream.

strolled around here with the family, on a hot and sunny day. Quiet and interesting place, even saw some fish. Great asset to the town.
Pity the mill is still closed.

We attended an evening visit with a group. We were made most welcome and learned about the history of the mill and its restoration. The mill has some great, dedicated volunteers who provided lots of information. The demonstration of the mill and the associated models, visual aids and displays was first class and better than our expectations. Very nice, home made cakes were provided too.
