The visit of the place is boring but the cheese is superb. Ain't that what you came for ? You wait an hour for a guy to show up and stir the huge pot of melting cheese for 20 minutes and he fades away into the tunnels of the Milky Goddess. To buy a chunk of cheese and eat it... More

Gruyere cheese is delicious, the cheese museum visit not sure if worth's the visit... It's a low cost entry ticket, at some special dates and hours you can also see live cheese making (daily from 10-12 and 13:30-15:00 except weekends) and you can read a lot of facts for cows, milk and cheese and smell cow's food (different varieties of... A little disappointing having been to other cheese factories around Europe. An audio guide takes you round what is a rather small but well thought out exhibition informing you about the cows, the milk, the pasture etc and then you see the cheesemaking area. This is much smaller and less impressive than expected. You get a small pack of the... More

La maison du gruyere offers a chance to sample and view how cheese is made. To be honest, the enjoyment is from the scenery and roads around the area and not the attraction itself. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Switzerland.

We had a beautiful visit to the gruyeres cheese factory. Very impressive. Then we had one of the best authentic cheese fondues ever. The staff were amazing & friendly. The wine perfect!!! Highly recommended

Visited and loved it. It is a short tour but informative. You pay 7 CHF but you get a small pack with 3 samples of their cheeses and they are really tasty. You also a tour device in english that helps you along the tour and also you can get to see the whole live process of making the cheese.... More

We were somewhat disappointed with this visit. Parts of the displays are interesting - but the movie that shows the cheese production is worth viewing. But waiting around to see the demonstration of someone stirring the milk in a huge vat is not terribly exciting. It can be quite an arduous experience if you do not time it right. Best... More

Visited the cheese factory and enjoyed it. Very short tour but for the price excellent. 7CHF. (Audio guides available in English) A free sample of cheese is given on entry. A nice touch! Loved the display area where you get to smell where the cows graze. (All the flora of the area) You would not go to Gruyere to only... More

We visited the Gruyere cheese factory in Dec 2016 with family. It was a great visit from learning from history of cheese, which is very nicely explained by the audio tour, which is available in many languages and the highlight of the show of making the cheese demonstrations. Must see. Do check the timings of the live demonstrations. A must... More

Very educative for the young and old. Gives an in depth knowledge of cheese making. From the beginning of cheese making to the storage is shown. Free samples are given. Free entrance for the Swiss travel pass holders. Just opposite the railway station.
