way back years ago, this place is already protected for the migratory birds. unfortunately, this place was set aside. few bird enthusiasts visit the place. and also, migratory birds are not that many as before. not maintained well. hopefully, bird hunters are still prohibited in the area.

To make the most of Candaba it is best to be a 'birder' and to be prepared. There are some blogs of non-birders who have enjoyed it but ... It is not a developed wetland as some might have experienced in other countries with hides, etc. but rather a collection of ponds and marshes among the rice fields. Get there... More

The sancturary is full of migratory brids, and is fun to watch and count the species. Bring a telescope or long camera lens as its hard to see the birds. No food there, so bring your own food and water

The Candaba Bird Sanctuary is about an hour and a half drive from Manila and is always a sure spot to see the endemic Philippine Duck. In addition to the Philippine Duck, the visitor can also see various waders during migration season (September-March) such as Eurasian wigeons, pintails, garganeys, wood and common sandpipers and little ringed plovers. For sure, the... More

If you're coming here expecting to see tons of birds in flight all the time, you will be disappointed. This is a place for sitting quietly and observing birds, making sure to stay quiet so as not to spook the birds. Simply driving through the place is not enough to let you appreciate the sanctuary. It's a good idea to... More

I'm not really into watching birds. My friends really enjoyed it. There are migratory birds from Mongolia, China, and Russia that come here for the winter. Saw a lot of egrets, Bring binoculars.
