Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent wine and a even nicer visit. Legaris was the star of a Ribera del Duero wine tasting we hosted for a few friends at home. Visiting their facilities and wine tasting room exceeded our expectations during our trip to Ribera del Duero in November ‘19. All the wines we tried were very good to excellent, most leaning towards the higher end. Their Verdejo, the “region’s white wine”, was the best of the various versions we tried in the region. Their reds are strong contenders, bold, full body, wines that are so distinct of the region. Really impressed with this “smaller” winery, they can easily compete with big household names.

As for the service, we could have not asked for a more personalized experience. Belen was very responsive throughout the booking process and very accommodating to our schedule. She made us feel at home and felt like a friend was teaching us all about Ribera del Duero wine. This was our first visit to a Ribera bodega and felt that we learned a lot from Belen...thank you!

Excellent wine and a much nicer visit. Legaris was the star of a Ribera del Duero wine tasting I hosted at home and it certainly lived to our expectations when we visited the bodega early November ‘19. All the wines we tried were good to excellent, most towards the higher end. Their Verdejo, the “region’s white wine”, was the best we tried in the region and would have definitely brought some back home if we lived in Spain. They are a “small” or less known winery that can compete with big household names, in my opinion.

What a fabulous wine tour here. We were very lucky to have a fantastic guide who’s knowledge was tangible. I love people who are enthusiastic about their work and Belen was certainly that. The wines speak for themselves but the delivery of the visit was fantastic. Well done her

We went on a sunday and had the weekend guide. He gave us a very infomative tour of the winery focusing on the various technologies they use for vine cultivation. The guide was very engaging and the tour was interesting even to those of us who have been to many vineyards before. After the tour we tasted 3 varieties of legaris wine, roble, crianza, and reserva. They were all good and reasonably priced so we got a case to take home. Overall it was a fun tour with good wines, highly recommended.

The modern look of the Bodegas made our group of 4 a little suspect however we ended up very much enjoying our visit and their wines (we had a case shipped to us). Our guide was knowledgeable and informative. Her explanation of the design of the building was interesting as was her articulation of the winery's operation and strategy. Worth adding Legaris to your list of stops in the area. Try the Calmo!

Pre booked direct with Legaris to taste their wines whilst in the Ribera del Douro area. Belen was very helpful in making the arrangements, and also making sure our visit did not clash with a group. She allowed us to walk round the facility prior to our one to one tasting, and if you are not aware of the process this is very well explained in pictures as you look down on various aspects of the plant. A lovely view from the terrace across the vineyards to Penfiel Castle in the distance. As designated driver for the day my husband did the tasting of 5 red wines, with Belen, who was very knowledgable about wine generally, guiding him through the process. A most enjoyable visit with a couple of bottles purchased to add to our collection of Spanish wines from this trip.

My wife & I stayed at the Castillo de Curiel Duero (a fantastic place) and we were looking for a local winery with an English tour. Legaris met these requirements perfectly. Our guide, Belen, gave us a fantastic tour, her English was very good. The tour started in the vineyard, went through grape receiving, and the fermenting & aging areas. Belen explained the different aging barrels & their effect on the wine's taste. The tour ended with wine tasting. She also did a great explaining the DOC labels. We were there about 3 hours. Highly recommend a visit (& staying in the castle).

We arrived in Valladolid for the day with no plan and were rejected by the first winery we attempted to go to. However, Legaris welcomed us with open arms and with no appointment. We toured the facilities (modern with great views) and Belen gave us an informative wine tasting after. We ended up buying several bottles of wine. Belen also recommended some other things for us to do after since we really needed her help. She was great and I highly recommend visiting.

I decided to spend my last day in Spain visiting this winery and I am very happy I did so. Setting up the tour was easy - Belen is very responsive and very kind. My tour guide, Mercedes was exceptional. You could see she loved wine and the winery and even though the tour was in Spanish (I am from Colorado, USA), I was able to understand most of it. The winery is immaculate and you can tell this was built with a lot of love and care for the vineyards and wines.
The tour was very comprehensive and nothing was left out (including the lab and bottling facilities). Mercedes carefully explained the philosophy behind each wine and the various vineyards from which the grapes are grown. I developed a much deeper appreciation for Ribera del Duero because of this.
Lastly, the wines are amazing! I took home a bottle of Paramos because it complements other bottles I was bringing home from other wineries, but one could feel good about every wine from this winery. Seriously, the wines are well-balanced, complex, and pair extremely well with food.
If you are in this area, make this Bodegas a priority. And a special thanks to Mercedes for making my visit so special. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back."

Some wineries drone on too long about their process when it's sometimes pretty standard stuff. This one gets it right. It highlights the differences, shows you the preparation areas and focuses instead on the wine itself and the very interesting architecture of this young producer.

The premium tasting is worthwhile, as you'll try their higher end Calmo label, as well as the various younger wines they produce. Probably the best young wine (rablo) we tasted in the region - worth buying many of these if you're a foreigner as these don't export.

It's a great place to stop before lunch or late in the day.
