Two mile in/out hike to Castle Rock. Beautiful views. First 1/2 mile will get your heart pumping. Kid friendly, but probably not for the little guys.

What a great recreation area, clean and safe. There was plenty of parking even though we had to wait a bit but it was well worth it. Quest and peaceful we were able to enjoy nature at its best with some snow not as much...More

If you stay in Big Bear Lake, this hike is well worth your time. A short trail that is only about a mile and a quarter, but it is beautiful at the top

A great hike that works up to some amazing views. The hike is predominantly uphill, with very few points that level off. If you want to get to the tippy top of Castle Rock, be prepared to climb up some large rocks. A few caveats:...More

The trail was really slippery and icy so make sure you wear some boots and gloves and hike with caution. Starts out challenging- at times you think you might slip off a cliff and end your life but the hike gets easier/ drier/ less incline/...More

This hike is a steep one mile hike. It ends at Castle Rock. A short climb takes you to the top with an amazing view. It can be dangerous for young or newbie rock scrambles. However you still get great views if you don't climb...More

It starts off pretty steep, but levels out. It's a great little trail with some nice views when you reach the end. Just make sure to go around the rock so you can see them!

Found this trail after doing a search and it did not disappoint. It is an intermediate trail and was fairly easy to follow. Views at the top are amazing. Parking was the most difficult part and finding the entrance was challenging. I asked around to...More

This is one of the most popular hikes in the area and for good reason. Very pretty and easy to walk. Parking is limited so it's better to arrive early in the day.

Went with my wife and two year old (in a backpack carrier). Got parking street side right next to it around 8. The way up was a bit tough with my son but not too bad. Decent trail, good scenery on the way, and a...More

Yep, but bring leashes, water, and some food for them. It’s a rough trail at parts so always be prepared to haul them back to the car if need be.
